action

Gangster Joey Gazelle is supposed to dispose of a murder weapon on behalf of the Mafia family Perello, with which two corrupt police officers were killed hours earlier. He hides the murder weapon in his house. However, Gazelle is watched by his ten-year-old son Nicky and his friend Oleg. The latter steals the gun and injures his violent stepfather Anzor Yugorsky, the nephew of a Russian gang boss. Before the police show up, Joey has his hands full trying to find the projectiles in front of the crime scene. Joey goes in search of the boy who is on the run. In his search, he meets a lot of bizarre people in parallel with his wife, all of whom have another dark secret.

First, Oleg hides in an abandoned amusement park, where he is threatened by two drug dealers. However, he escapes and then watches how the brutal pimp Lester beats the prostitute Divina and attacks with a knife. Oleg points his gun at Lester and Divina can knock the pimp down. Out of gratitude and pity for the frightened Oleg, Divina takes the boy to a dinner and bought him a meal. In this diner, Joey meets with his clients while Nicky waits outside. When Nicky discovers Oleg, the two boys secretly meet in the toilet and hide the gun in a cistern.

Shortly afterwards, Oleg and Divina are picked up by the police, while Joey realizes that Nicky is hiding something from him. He brings out the confession from his son that the gun is hidden in the diner's toilet.

At the police station, the corrupt policeman Rydell demands from Anzor that he get Oleg to reveal the hiding place of the gun and to confess where he got the gun. Anzor takes Oleg to an ice cream parlor to do this.

Meanwhile, Joey and Nicky are looking for the gun, but it is no longer in the cistern. Joey suspects that Manny the cleaner took the gun.

Oleg refuses to tell Anzor the truth about the gun and flees from his stepfather. He is hiding in a car in the parking lot that already has two other children. The car belongs to a strange couple that Oleg takes with them. In the couple's apartment, Oleg soon realizes that they are apparently sexually abusing children and shooting child porn in the process. He manages to lock himself in the bathroom and use a cell phone to call Joey's wife Teresa. When Teresa arrives at the apartment, she initially finds neither Oleg nor evidence of the couple's crimes. But she soon encounters inconsistencies and threatens the couple with a gun. She finds Oleg tied up in a closet with a plastic bag over his head and is just about able to revive him. When she found numerous videos with different names of children, body bags and knives, she shot the couple, who probably tortured and tortured several children, called the police and escaped from the apartment with Oleg. The two other children stay behind waiting for the police.

Meanwhile, Joey has found out that the gun he was looking for was sold to the pimp Lester, who wants to kill the prostitute Divina with it. Joey takes Oleg with him to get the gun back, but he is provided by his clients, the original owners of the gun. Joey witnesses how his boss, Tommy Perello, lures the corrupt cop Rydell into a deadly trap via cell phone. Then Joey and Oleg are taken to an ice rink where Frankie, the head of the Perello family, and Anzor and his uncle are. Anzor is supposed to kill Oleg, but he can't bring himself to do so and is shot by his uncle. Meanwhile, Joey is tortured and claims that he gave the weapon to Oleg on behalf of the Perellos so that the boy could kill Anzor and deal a blow to the Russian mafia. There is a shootout between the two gangster organizations, only Joey, Oleg and Frankie survive. Joey reveals to Frankie that he's an FBI undercover cop, which even his own wife doesn't know. Then Joey kills Frankie.

After these events, Joey goes to a diner with Oleg to buy him a meal. The pimp Lester shows up in this diner and recognizes Oleg. Lester wants to kill the boy, but Joey stands protectively in front of Oleg and is badly wounded. With the last of his strength, Joey manages to bring Oleg home before he appears to die in the arms of his wife Teresa. Meanwhile, Oleg has to learn that his mother committed suicide.

A few days later, Teresa, Nicky and Oleg attend Joey's honorable funeral. When they return to their new home afterwards, they are met by Joey, who as an undercover cop had to fake his death to the public in order to start a new life with the severance payment and his family, which now also includes the adopted son Oleg.
