Shannyn Sossamon (born October 3, 1978 in Honolulu , Hawaii ; actually Shannon Marie Kahololani Sossamon ) is an American actress .

Life

Sossamon grew up in Reno, Nevada and Los Angeles . During her time in high school she danced a lot; For a long time she wanted to turn her hobby into a profession. It turned out differently when she was discovered by Francine Maisler at a party at Gwyneth Paltrow's where she was making music . She made her TV debut in 1997 in Mr. Show with Bob and David . Six months later, she was offered a role in the movie Knight of the Passion . This film was followed by 40 Days and 40 Nights , The Rules of the Game , The Holiday and A Deadly Call, as well as some advertising appearances (e.g. Gap ). From 2004 to 2008 Sossamon was the drummer for the band Warpaint . In 2008 she was seen in the US television series Moonlight , in which she played the vampire Coraline.

Sossamon is in a relationship with a kickboxing trainer. In 2003 she became the mother of a son.
