Roman François Coppola (born April 22, 1965 in Neuilly-sur-Seine ) is an American director , screenwriter and producer .

Life

Coppola was born in 1965 to Hollywood director Francis Ford Coppola and his wife Eleanor Coppola near Paris when his father was in France when he wrote the screenplay for Brennt Paris? wrote. He is the brother of the director Sofia Coppola and the cousin of the actor Nicolas Cage . Roman began his career directing video clips for the bands The Strokes , Fatboy Slim , Moby , Green Day , Phoenix , Arctic Monkeys and Mansun . In 2001 he shot his first feature film CQ with Jeremy Davies , Angela Lindvall , Gérard Depardieu , Jason Schwartzman , Billy Zane , Dean Stockwell and others . In 2007 he wrote with Wes Anderson and Jason Schwartzman on the script for the film Darjeeling Limited, which he also produced . In 2010 he co-produced his sister Sofia's film Somewhere . He also worked with her on her film The Bling Ring .

At the 2013 Academy Awards , he was nominated for Best Original Screenplay for the film Moonrise Kingdom .
