Billy Zane (* 24. February 1966 in Chicago , Illinois as William George Zane, Jr. ) is an American actor . He is the younger brother of actress Lisa Zane .

Career

His first prominent role on screen was that of Match , a friend of Biff Tannen's , in the first two parts of the Back-to-the-Future trilogy. He first received special attention for his role as the mad Hughie Warriner in the Australian film Death Silence . But he was best known for the blockbuster Titanic , in which he embodied the arrogant Cal Hockley . In the Valley of the Wolves - Iraq , as an American war criminal, he was the hero's opponent. On television he has appeared in recurring roles on the series Twin Peaks , Boston Public and Charmed . His work includes more than 140 film and television productions.

Private life

Zane is of Greek descent and is fluent in Greek . The original name of his family is Zanetakos.

Zane was married to actress Lisa Collins from 1989 to 1995 . After that he was engaged for a while to the Chilean actress Leonor Varela , whom he met in 1999 while filming the television film Cleopatra . He was also temporarily engaged to the British model Kelly Brook , with whom he shot the film Stranded in Paradise together in 2005 . Brook and Zane split in 2008. Zane and Croatian model Jasmina Hdagha were a couple in 2010, but they broke up in mid-2010. Billy Zane became the father of little Ava Katherine on February 20, 2011 - the mother is not Jasmina Hdagha, as is often falsely claimed in the media, but the model Candice Neil, with whom Zane is in a relationship.
