Samantha Who? is an American sitcom that ran on ABC from 2007 to 2009 . The series was created and produced by Cecelia Ahern and Don Todd.
On May 18, 2009, ABC announced that there would be no third season of Samantha Who? will be produced.
action
The sitcom is about Samantha Newly ( Christina Applegate ), the vice president of a real estate company in Chicago , the victim of an accident with hit and run is. After eight days, she wakes up from a coma . As a result, she has amnesia and has to try to rearrange her life, relationships and herself. After a while, she begins to realize that in her previous life she was an unbearable person who had more enemies than friends. Now she is trying to change her life.

The first season aired on ABC from October 15, 2007 through May 12, 2009 . The Swiss broadcaster 3+ broadcast the series between September 2, 2008 and December 3, 2009 as a German-language premiere. ProSieben followed with the first broadcast one day later, ORF 1 three days later. The first season was released in the US on September 23, 2008 on DVD .
The second season aired in the US between October 13, 2008 and July 23, 2009.
On May 18, 2009, ABC announced that there would be no third season of Samantha Who? will be produced. On July 23, 2009, the last episode of the second season was broadcast in the USA.
Audience response
With a 13.9 percent market share in the target group, the series started quite successfully on German television on September 3, 2008. The series reached 1.49 million viewers on Late Prime. However, in the second week, the numbers fell to 780,000 young viewers and 8.2 percent market share.
In the US, the first episode reached 14.42 million viewers. An average of 11.8 million people saw the first season. The second season had significantly fewer viewers.

The New York Times wrote , “Samantha Who? is what Mike Nichols ' Henry would be if it had been funny. "
Awards
Samantha Who? won the People's Choice Awards for Best New Comedy Series. Christina Applegate was also nominated for the 2008 Golden Globe Award for Best Actress in a Series in the Comedy or Musical category.
