Crime Story is an American crime series starring Dennis Farina and Anthony Denison . It consists of two seasons with a total of 44 episodes and was first broadcast from September 18, 1986 to May 10, 1988 on the US broadcaster NBC . In Germany, the series ran from January 3, 1989 on RTL plus .

Chicago in the 1960s. Lieutenant Mike Torello, head of the MCU (Major Crime Unit), is investigating the young gangster Ray Luca. Liberal prosecutor David Abrams, son of an underworld king who has finished with his past, helps Torello with this work. Despite the tough police operation, Ray Luca builds up a huge crime empire. When Ray Luca moves his activities to Las Vegas , Lt. Torello. Even if Torello is always hot on the heels of Ray Luca, he can never finally conquer him.
