Lothar Hinze

Lothar Hinze (born October 3, 1937 ) is a German dubbing actor and dubbing director .

Life

Lothar Hinze completed an acting training at the private Fritz Kirchhoff School in Berlin. This was followed by first engagements at the Berlin grandstand and the Vaganten stage . Since 1960 he has worked as a dubbing and radio play speaker, later also as a dubbing director. From 1961 he also worked for a long time in radio and television for the Sender Freies Berlin . As a sports presenter and head of radio sports (until 2001), he accompanied ten Olympic summer and winter games as well as two soccer world championships.

As a synchronous actor in feature films, Hinze can mainly be heard in smaller roles, so tomorrow is a new day , sailor ahoy! , Streets of Night , Family Grave and Corporate State Power , Number 5 Doesn't Give Up and Forrest Gump . He achieved greater fame as the German voice of John M. Jackson as Admiral Chegwidden in JAG - On behalf of the honor and especially as the voice of Terry O'Quinn in various series, including for John Locke in the first two seasons of the television series Lost .

After the death of his son Matthias Hinze , he temporarily stopped working as a voice actor. Since the end of 2011 he has been speaking again for actor Terry O'Quinn , for example in the recurring role of Joe White in the series Hawaii Five-0 .
