Eric Vaessen

Eric Vaessen (born October 4, 1922 in Aachen ; † February 21, 2009 ) was a German actor , dubbing and radio play speaker .

biography

In addition to smaller roles in film and television, Vaessen was mainly present as a dubbing and radio play speaker. His best-known speaking roles include the lawyer Matlock , played by Andy Griffith in the television series of the same name , and the commissioner or chief Hurst in the six Police Academy films.

In the 1980s he acted as a speaker for various children's and youth radio plays. Among other things, he took over the role of Theodor Tierlieb, previously spoken by Hermann Wagner , in episodes 82-108 of the radio play series Benjamin Blümchen , spoke Miraculix in the Asterix radio play series from Europe and various roles (including narrators) in the series Ein Fall für TKKG . In Masters of the Universe he could be heard in several episodes as Hordak and Whiplash .

His son Manuel is also active as an actor and voice actor.

Eric Vaessen died on February 21, 2009 at the age of 86 and was buried in the forest cemetery in Zehlendorf .
