The Boss is an episode of the ARD crime series Tatort . The episode produced by the broadcaster Free Berlin (SFB) was first broadcast on December 19, 1971 on ARD. Detective Chief Inspector Erwin Kasulke is dealing with a series of fur thefts in his first case.

action

Achim and Peter work as tilers on the construction site. The two meet two girls in a discotheque in the evening and show off their cars in front of them. When one of the girls on the joyride provokes an accident caused by Peter and the car crashes into the window of a fur shop, Achim recognizes the moment and pockets an expensive fur coat.

After Achim succeeded in selling it at a high price, he got the idea to commit fur theft on a commercial basis. The gang's coups, to which they can also win the former furrier Uwe, are getting bigger and bigger and Achim more and more reckless. He begins to brag about the thefts and his new wealth and to give away a fur to his landlady. The rest of the gang then decide to get rid of Achim. After they found out the distribution channels for the stolen furs and no longer need Achim, they forge a perfidious plan to kill Achim.

They make him drunk, suggest that the police are after him, so that he would have to flee with his boat across the Havel along the sector border . Heinz, who is in the boat with Achim, encourages Achim to drive up to the GDR border guards and shoot them. Heinz jumps out of the boat shortly before the sector border, and Achim is shot by the GDR border guards as planned.

Chief Detective Kasulke, who is supposed to clear up the fur theft series, was already on Achim's trail and waited in vain with his colleague at Achim's car on the bank. Meanwhile, his former accomplices drive away with Peter's car and disagree whether they should continue with the fur theft.
