Gerhard Wollner

Gerhard Wollner (born July 28, 1917 in Berlin ; † May 27, 1997 there ) was a German actor and cabaret artist . In the 1950s, the West Berliner was a well-known entertainer on GDR television .

Life

After graduating from secondary school and training as an actor with Marie Borchardt in Berlin, Wollner made his debut in 1946 at the comedians' cabaret . Engagements at various cabarets followed , such as the Berliner Kammerbrettl, founded by Hans Joachim Heinrichs , and the East Berlin cabaret Frischer Wind . He was an actor in revues at the Friedrichstadtpalast and the Deutsches Theater Berlin .

Wollner has been part of the DFF ensemble since 1953 . In 1953, as a West Berliner, he led through the first New Year's Eve revue and formed a comedian couple with Herbert Köfer , who later alternated with Heinz Quermann and Gustav Müller to form the trio "Microphoneists". This formation first appeared in the fall of 1956 in the first major entertainment broadcast on GDR television, in Da laughs the bear , a forerunner of Ein Kessel Buntes .

He has also appeared as a film and television actor since the early 1950s, initially in DEFA and DFF productions and as a freelance artist since the Berlin Wall was built. Gerhard Wollner became known to a wide audience as a sketch partner of Dieter Hallervorden (e.g. in the sketch Palim-Palim from Nonstop Nonsense ).

Gerhard Wollner died on May 27, 1997.
