action
The old banker Gustav Böllemann blesses the time after he had amused himself with a light lady shortly before. Since the 92-year-old had a considerable fortune, four nephews and a niece soon afterwards arrive for the official promulgation of the will with notary Praetorius at Villa Böllemann. But the old man's video message that was part of the reading turns out to be a nasty surprise for the bereaved: In his last will, Böllemann disinherits the greedy kinship - of which he doesn't think much because they have all achieved nothing - and names Dieter Dödel, one Third-degree nephew as the sole heir to his 30 million D-Mark fortune. This is the only one of the family who never pumped him for money - as it later turns out, only for the reason that he never found Böllemann's address.
Said Dieter Dödel has not yet been located by the notary, so that he has no idea of his luck. The angry relatives thereupon decided - and spurred on by Praetorius' words “The dead can no longer inherit anything!” - to get rid of Dödel in order to get to the millions themselves, who would then be divided among everyone. For this, each of the only four disinherited (the hungry restaurant tester Titus Böllemann had already suffocated on a pineapple piece during the opening of the will) wants to kill Dödel personally.
Dieter Dödel is a completely impoverished gravedigger in a city cemetery who has high debts in his local bar. Due to rent arrears, he is also threatened with losing his shabby one-room apartment. All legal and illegal attempts to get out of his financial misery have so far failed miserably and only got Dödel deeper into the mess. He's trying to find a better paying job. In response to a newspaper advertisement at the train station, he met the dubious Mike, who fetched two heavy suitcases with erotica ("naked women and such": The Sittengeschichte des Abendlandes , number 1 on the hit list ) from the locker , which Didi bought for 300 DM per band to bring the man, which does not succeed. After he gave Mike his watch and ID ( for security ), Didi is back there as a jerk.
When the will was opened, niece Florentine vaguely remembered Didi's presumed address. Each of the four is now trying in their own way to transport Dieter to the afterlife. But Dödel can escape all murder attempts, which he usually does not even notice, with luck, while the disinherited gradually turn themselves off: First of all, Congo Otto falls victim to his own egg grenade, which Didi thinks is the usual ball of the neighboring girl Doris and how always throws back. The corpse that appears in Dödel's vicinity in turn draws the attention of the police, in the person of Inspector Becker and his somewhat limited but very self-confident colleague Langenhagen (whom Becker only tolerates because he is the mayor's son), who in Dieter a murderous one See felons. The police arrests the unsuspecting Didi as a suspect, while Florentine and her husband Rüdiger appear in Didi's home. Rüdiger, tired of her incessant nagging and gesturing, kills Florentine with several electric shocks that were actually intended for Didi. Shortly thereafter, Emilio steps in, takes Rüdiger for Didi and riddles him with his MP. Two more corpses, now in his "bedroom", do not make Didi's situation any easier. After all, he has an alibi, but now a pack of press rushes at him, from which he can escape. Emilio realizes that he killed the wrong man. In the subsequent chase for the real Didi, he first accidentally shoots his partner Alfredo in the mirror cabinet on the fairground before falling off the roller coaster. Albert sends a radio-controlled aircraft loaded with explosives, which follows the signal of a tracking device disguised as a lighter, which he has passed to Dödel. When the transmitter under Albert's caravan is lost while fleeing from Emilio, the somewhat idiotic inventor is killed by his own invention. Dr. Praetorius looking for Didi Dödel at the crime scenes, but he always comes too late and is cast off by the arrogant Langenhagen.
After Dödel escaped all attacks and is the only relative remaining, Praetorius finally finds his client. When the will is opened in the Böllemannsche Villa, the notary suddenly pulls a pistol and threatens Dödel because, as an asset manager, he wants to keep the inheritance himself. He chases Dödel onto the roof of the villa to simulate his suicide, but he falls himself into the depths. Becker and Langenhagen finally found the reason for the series of murders after Langenhagen remembered the crucial clue: a letter from Dr. Praetorius to Didi, whom he found during a search of Didi's accommodation, pocketed but initially ignored him. When the investigators arrive at Villa Böllemann, Inspector Becker is in view of the other dead person, Dr. Praetorius, completely exasperated and wants to retire. The case has been solved and Didi Dödel can look forward to surprising prosperity.
background
- The film has parallels to the Heinz Rühmann film Lachende Erben from 1933, in which the rich deceased Bockelmann also posthumously pronounces the will for a recording, in this case a record, to the alleged heirs. These, however, are to be disinherited - he couldn't stand them either - and the entire property is to go to a nephew, although the voice from the record states one condition. In this film, too, the nephew's fortune is supposed to be stolen.
- The film shows striking parallels to the comedy Adel obliged ( Kind Hearts and Coronets ) from 1949. In this, the actor Alec Guinness took on eight different roles and played all relatives of the main character, including a woman. The basic concept of the plot is opposite to that of Didi and the revenge of the disinherited : A penniless relative murders the family members who are above him in the line of succession in order to become the heir to the family fortune and in particular the title of duchy . Similar to this model, Dieter Hallervorden embodies seven roles in Didi and the revenge of the disinherited . These are in detail:
- Gustav Böllemann: deceased banker who disinherits his relatives. Dies when he falls from the sickbed: he wanted to watch the call girl, who was only wearing a shirt, "picking" the "reward" from the chandelier from below
- Dieter Dödel: Third degree nephew of the deceased, impoverished gravedigger
- Titus Böllemann: Disinherited, weighty and greedy gastronomy tester who suffocates on a pineapple while the will is being promulgated
- Otto Böllemann: Disinherited, known as Congo Otto , brutal Africa mercenary and deserted former army sergeant. Dies from explosion of his own hand grenade that was supposed to kill Dödel. The role is based on the real figure of the mercenary Siegfried Müller , called "Congo-Müller".
- Albert Böllemann: Disinherited, absent-minded, stuttering inventor who lives in a mobile home with a parrot and who hardly works at all. He dies from the explosive impact of his own mini fighter plane into his motor home.
- Emilio Böllemann: Disinherited, Italian Mafioso. Dies after falling from a roller coaster after accidentally shooting his partner Alfredo in the mirror cabinet.
- Florentine Böllemann: Disinherited, former waitress who married the unsuccessful and duckmäusden vacuum cleaner salesman Rüdiger and ordered him around. Standard sentence: “Rüdiger, you're going to put me in the grave.” Is electrocuted by her exasperated husband when they try to put Dödel's shower under high voltage. Shortly afterwards, Rüdiger is shot by Emilio Böllemann and his partner Alfredo, because they mistakenly mistaken him for Dieter Dödel.
- The film was made under the working title Heirs must die too .
- Didi and the revenge of the disinherited is characterized by, in some cases, profound puns , situational comedy and running gags, by stunts that were spectacular for the time, most of which were also played by Dieter Hallervorden himself. These include, for example, a ride with roller skates and two suitcases on scaffolding and through an underground car park as well as climbing on the roof of the Böllemann villa.
- The film was also technically a challenge, due to the seven roles occupied by one person, especially since the use of computer processing in the film sector was hardly possible financially and technically in 1985.
- Hallervorden realized the film with the help of some colleagues from his cabaret Die Wühlmäuse . Harald Effenberg achieved greater fame for the first time through his role "Theo in the bin".
- Lutz Riedel , one of the most famous German voice actors, acts as the reporter Bodo , among other things as the voice of Timothy Dalton .
- The film opened in German cinemas on February 8, 1985. He was first seen on television on May 12, 1987 from 8:15 p.m. on ZDF .
- There is a US-English dubbed version under the title Nonstop Trouble with the Family .
- Some of the filming took place in the Villa Herz in Berlin-Wannsee. The villa is often used as a backdrop for film productions.
Reviews
"The stuttering kind of stupid thing for fans."
“Dieter Hallervorden turns this film into a one-man show in which he embodies seven characters. The obvious model - Alec Guinness in " Adel obliged " (1949) - he does not achieve with his slapstick. "
