Berndt Schulz

Berndt Schulz (* 1942 in the Mark Brandenburg ; pseudonym Mattias Gerwald ) is a German writer as well as television and film critic .

Life

Berndt Schulz spent his childhood in Berlin . After completing an electrician apprenticeship and taking on various jobs, he became a bookseller . After a serious illness and his recovery, he moved to Stuttgart . In 1970 he moved to Frankfurt am Main, took his Abitur at the evening grammar school there and studied German , philosophy , history and journalism . He then worked in adult education, as a journalist and as a lecturer.

Since 1978 he has published more than 70 books on film , star history , politics and society as well as non-fiction and biographies as a freelance writer . Under the pseudonym Mattias Gerwald he also wrote and published several historical novels , such as Der Entdecker (about Alexander von Humboldt ), most recently the Islamic novel Die Geliebte des Propheten .

In 1991 the thriller Murderous Decision appeared , in 1994 The Train ride . In 2007 his novel Eine Liebe im Krieg was published and in 2016 he published the crime thriller Wildwuchs .

He was best known for his crime novels about investigator Martin Velsmann , which are set in the Main-Kinzig region between Frankfurt and Fulda . Last published November murder , Angel murder , rain murder , Spring Awakening and The Enchanted women with the Fulda investigators.

Berndt Schulz has lived in the Holzburg district of Schrecksbach since 2015 .
