Palim-Palim

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Palim-Palim is an onomatopoeia for the sound sequence of a particular door bell as previously often in mom and pop stores was used to allow entry to announce a customer. For dictum Palim-Palim was a sketch by and with Dieter Hallervorden from the series nonstop nonsense from the year 1977th

Plot of the skit "Bottle of French fries"

Dieter Hallervorden and Gerhard Wollner act as two prison inmates. To drive away the boredom, they decide to play " grocery store ". Hallervorden enters the imaginary shop as a “customer”, imitating the doorbell with “Palim, Palim!”. He asks Wollner, who plays the salesman, for a "bottle of french fries ". Wollner accuses him of torpedoing the game with the crazy order and demands a repetition first. As Hallervorden ordered another bottle of French fries (this time a small one), Wollner asked for roles to be reversed. So now Wollner enters the shop as a customer. First he forgets the bell, whereupon Hallervorden sends him back again. Wollner then orders: "I would like French fries", to which Hallervorden replies: "Yes, do you have a bottle with you?"

Meaning of the sketch

The sketch has become the epitome of Dieter Hallervorden. He stands for his reputation as a goofy comedian. Hallervorden himself is not entirely happy with this reduction, as serious political cabaret makes up a large part of his work (see also Die Wühlmäuse and Hallervordens Spott-Light ). On the other hand, he is pleased with the popularity of the sketch - in an interview with the Frankfurter Allgemeine Sonntagszeitung , he admitted: “It's nice when children act out that in the school yard.” And “Others leave the ' Magic Mountain ', I just 'Palim, Palim' . ”The most disturbing thing is that since then, after live performances, the organizer has often given him a bottle of French fries instead of flowers.

In an interview with the Süddeutsche Zeitung , Harald Schmidt said that he was usually not approached about current programs but about his early skits in Schmidt each other and drew a comparison: “It's like 'Palim Palim' by Hallervorden. As a pensioner, he can make marathon films however he wants. One just thinks Palim Palim. That is the real achievement. "

In the BILD newspaper on January 19, 2007, the solo entertainer Fips Asmussen Hallervorden accused of stealing the sketch from his program. Hallervorden then declared that he had bought the sketch from the East German entertainer Heinz Quermann , with whom he frequently exchanged skits and jokes, for around 500 marks.
