The Intruder is a German television film from 1990 that was produced by ZDF .

action

The young woman Elke Bernd, who was blinded by an accident two years earlier , lives alone. Her neighbor, Mr. Willrich, often helps her with everyday things like reading the mail. One day "Manne" Kobus gets in her house to steal. However, he is provided by Elke and Mr. Willrich and pretends that he was only looking for a place to sleep and is ready to replace the broken window.

As a result, a friendship and sexual relationship developed between Elke and Manne. You do a lot of things together and have fun doing it, e.g. B. when he tries to teach her to ride a bike. He tries to show her the direction by shouting. It doesn't work that well and she falls, which they both laugh at.

But there are also problematic incidents, such as when a motorboat passes close to her while he is bathing while he is still undressing, causing her to panic.

The woman's former partner, Wolfgang Schirmer, does not like the relationship very much, because he doubts whether this partner is the right one for Elke. He had already moved out of the shared apartment because they could no longer get along. For example, he could not bear it when she struggled with housework or other pursuits and always intervened in a patronizing manner.

After some discussions, Manne has to promise not to meet Elke again, and Wolfgang is ready to pay off Manne's gambling debts.

info

The film is a drama with a cautiously optimistic ending. At the end of the film it becomes clear that the blind woman is gradually getting on better with her life.

Constanze Engelbrecht prepared well for the portrayal of the blind woman by completing mobility training under the guidance of a blind trainer and speaking to blind people.
