Peter Schulze-Rohr
Peter Schulze-Rohr (born May 25, 1926 in Leipzig , † September 22, 2007 in Lübeck ) was a German director and screenwriter .
Life
Peter Schulze-Rohr was the firstborn of five children of the music teacher and organ builder Herbert Schulze (1895–1985) and the Swiss pastor's daughter Dorothea Rohr (1897–1990). He grew up in Leipzig and since 1934 in the Johannesstift in Berlin . At 18 he did his military service in the Navy on board the Admiral Scheer . He was one of the few survivors when the ship was sunk in Kiel harbor. After completing his studies, he became an assistant director at the Berliner Ensemble and the Schillertheater . He later worked as a journalist .
In January 1958 he married Christa Fest (1932-2004), sister of the historian Joachim Fest .
After the first state examination in law , Schulze-Rohr followed his real inclination: in 1960 he became chief dramaturge at Südwestfunk , from 1964 to 1969 editor and director at NDR television game. From 1970 to 1978 he worked as a freelance director and screenwriter and from 1978 to 1989 he headed the main TV play and music department of the SWF.
Peter Schulze-Rohr became known as the director of productions for the Tatort television series and for radio play productions. He is the founder of the junior series “Debut in the Third”.
In 1964 he received the renowned war blind radio play award for Der Bussard über uns from Margarete Jehn and, among other things, the Golden Screen (Critics Award ) (1970), the Jakob Kaiser Award (1978), the Golden Camera (1986) and the Silver Leopard at International Film Festival Locarno.
Schulze-Rohr received the 'Prize in Locarno', the Golden Camera, the Golden Gong and the Adolf Grimme Prize for Hautnah .
Peter Schulze-Rohr was an older brother of the architect and urban planner Jakob Schulze-Rohr (1930–2008).
Peter Schulze-Rohr's grave is in the St. Matthias Cemetery in Berlin-Tempelhof .
His written estate is in the archive of the Academy of Arts in Berlin.
