The Mock family is not doing very well financially: Father Johannes works as a painter , but his abstract works just don't really go down with the customers. Mother Luise has to take on part-time jobs again and again in order to be able to look after thirteen-year-old Peter, ten-year-old Susi and five-year-old Matz. But even the bright Peter always finds a solution with wit and understanding, how he and his family can get out of a messy situation.
When a surprising inheritance beckons for the Mocks with a guesthouse , Peter's ingenuity is more in demand than ever - because none of the family members has the slightest idea of how such a guesthouse is run.
