College Fever (original title: A Different World ) is an American sitcom that was created as an offshoot of the successful sitcom The Bill Cosby Show and was produced from 1987 to 1993.

action

Denise, the second eldest daughter of the Huxtable family, is leaving home to study at the prestigious Hillman College, which is mostly attended by African Americans.

The many people she meets and befriends there include the confident Jaleesa, the naive Maggie, the arrogant Whitley and the cool Dwayne, who falls in love with Denise.

After Denise leaves college to travel around Africa and get married there, the focus is on Whitley and Dwayne, who after a while fall in love and eventually get married.

background

The series was originally written for Lisa Bonet aka Denise Huxtable. After leaving the series after the first season, the supporting actors moved to the fore. The reason for Lisa Bonet's early exit from the series is her pregnancy, but her alleged unreliability should also have played a role. In 1991 she made another guest appearance on an episode in which Dwayne realizes that his crush, Denise, married another man.
