Jada Pinkett Smith (* 18th September 1971 in Baltimore , Maryland , as Jada Koren Pinkett ), also known as Jada Pinkett , is an American actress and singer .

Life

Jada Pinkett Smith trained in dance and acting at the Baltimore School of Arts and the North Carolina School of the Arts. At the same time, Tupac Shakur was also attending the Baltimore class and they became close friends. She was best known for her role in the television series College Fever .

In 1990 she made her film debut as Natalie in the TV movie Moe’s World . 1993 followed her first appearance in a movie with Menace II Society . She became known to a large audience in 1996 on the side of Eddie Murphy in the film The Crazy Professor as "Professor Carla Purty". In 1998 she was in Scream 2 , the sequel to the hit horror thriller Scream . In 2001 she starred in the film version of the biography of boxing legend Muhammad Ali , the film Ali , alongside her husband Will Smith . In 2003, Smith played Captain Niobe in the second and third part of the Matrix trilogy , who made her hovercraft available to fight the machines. In 2004 she played again in a Michael Mann film after Ali . In the thriller Collateral , she is a prosecutor who invites Jamie Foxx on a date just before the hit man, played by Tom Cruise , gets into his taxi .

The 1.52 meter tall African American was named one of the top 10 sexiest women of the year by Black Men Magazine in 2000 . In 1988 she was Miss Maryland . On December 31, 1997, she married the actor Will Smith and has three children, including her stepson Willard "Trey" Christopher in addition to their daughter Willow Camille Reign and their son Jaden Christopher Syre .

In the 2017 film All Eyez on Me , a biopic about Tupac Shakur , the character based on her is played by Katerina Graham .

In 2018 she was appointed to the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences , which awards the Oscars every year.

In addition to her film career, Pinkett-Smith is also the front singer of the band Wicked Wisdom . The Nu Metal group supported Britney Spears in the summer of 2004 .
