Reviews
- James Berardinelli : The comedy is stupid, but it could have been worse than it is. Some scenes are funny. However, Jada Pinkett Smith and Tommy Davidson are unable to compensate for the script's weaknesses.
- Roger Ebert, “Chicago Sun-Times” : The characters are not established, the jokes are flat (“easy slapstick”).
Remarks
- The comedy was shot in New York City and Toronto . It cost $ 13 million and brought in $ 8 million in American cinemas.
- Tupac Shakur was supposed to star in the comedy , but he died a few days before filming began. Pam Grier and Isaac Hayes were supposed to play Woo's parents, but their scenes were deleted.
