Aida Turturro (* 25. September 1962 in New York City ) is an American actress .

Life and accomplishments

Turturro graduated from the State University of New York with a theatrical arts degree in 1984 . She made her debut on the side of Annabella Sciorra in the comedy True Love from 1989. In the romantic comedy Love-Crash (1992) she played a larger role on the side of Jami Gertz and Dylan McDermott . In the comedy Romance & Cigarettes (2005) by John Turturro , she appeared on the side of James Gandolfini , Susan Sarandon and Kate Winslet .

Turturro played the role of Janice Soprano in the television series The Sopranos from 2000 to 2006 . For this role she was nominated for an Emmy Award in 2001. As a member of the acting ensemble, she was nominated for the Screen Actors Guild Award in 2001, 2002, 2003 and 2005 .

Turturro is a cousin of John Turturro and Nicholas Turturro .
