Nicholas Turturro
Nicholas "Nick" Turturro (born January 29, 1962 in New York City , New York ) is an American actor . He gained fame for his role as Detective James Martinez in the crime series New York Cops - NYPD Blue (1993-2000).
Life
His mother, Katherine Turturro, an amateur jazz singer, worked on a Navy base during World War II. His father Nicholas Turturro, who worked as a carpenter and construction worker, was a Navy soldier on D-Day in Normandy. His brother John Turturro and cousin Aida Turturro are also actors. His other brother, Ralph Turturro, is a middle school art teacher.
For his role as Detective James Martinez on the ABC crime series New York Cops - NYPD Blue , Turturro received two Emmy nominations for best supporting actor in a drama series in 1994 and 1997 . Along with the rest of the cast of the series, he was also awarded the Screen Actors Guild Award in 1995 in the category of Best Acting Company in a Television Series - Drama and was nominated five more times by 2000. With his role as Sergeant Anthony Renzulli in Blue Bloods - Crime Scene New York , he took on a recurring role in a crime series from 2010 to 2016.
Nicholas Turturro was married to Jami Biunno from 1984 to 1995; You have a son. He has been married to Lissa Espinosa since 1996.
