Screen Actors Guild Awards 1997
The 3rd US Screen Actors Guild Awards , which the Screen Actors Guild presents each year in the areas of film (5 categories) and television (8 categories), took place on February 22, 1997 at the Los Angeles Shrine Exposition Center . In contrast to the Golden Globe Award , for example, the so-called SAG Awards only honor film, television and ensemble actors and are a yardstick for the upcoming Oscar awards. The winners are chosen by the members of the Screen Actors Guild, which one must belong to to work as an actor in the United States . In the United States, the ceremony was shown live on NBC .
