Noah Strausser Speer Wyle [ waɪˈliː ] (born June 4, 1971 in Hollywood , California ) is an American actor .

Life

Noah Wyle was born in Hollywood to nurse Marjorie and electrician Stephen Wyle. He has a stepsister and three stepbrothers in addition to his sister Alex and younger brother Aaron, who are three years older than him. After her divorce from Stephen Wyle in 1977, Wyle's mother married film restorer and film producer Jim Katz .

It was Katz who gave Wyle his first insight into the film industry. Wyle gained his first acting experience at the Thacher School , a boarding school in Ojai , California, where, among other things, he took part in a performance of Jean-Paul Sartre's Private Society as an actor and director . At Northwestern University in Chicago he also took a few courses and took acting lessons from Larry Moss . Wyle made his first appearance in the television thriller Blind Faith . This was followed by various appearances in television and cinema productions.

Wyle achieved great fame through the hospital series Emergency Room, which was broadcast from 1994 to 2009 , in which he played the role of Dr. John Carter played. He became a star of the series and was the only actor after the tenth season who had been part of the regular cast since the series began. His participation as the main actor ended at the end of the 11th season, after which he appeared in several episodes as a guest actor in the 12th season. In the last third of the 15th season, he was one of the leading actors again in some episodes. For his participation he was nominated for five Emmys , three Golden Globe Awards and, together with the rest of the ensemble, seven times for the Screen Actors Guild Award ; he won it four times from 1996 to 1999.

From June 2011 to August 2015 he starred as Tom Mason in Steven Spielberg's science fiction series Falling Skies .

On May 6, 2000, Noah Wyle married the four-year-old make- up artist Tracy Warbin, whom he met in 1996 while filming The Myth of Fingerprints . They lived together on a ranch in the Santa Ynez Valley near Santa Barbara , which Wyle bought from actress Bo Derek for about 2.5 million US dollars . Warbin and Wyle have two children together. In late 2009, Wyle separated from his wife and moved to a nearby house so that he could see his two children at any time.

In June 2014, he married actress Sara Wells, whom he met in 2011.
