action

Flynn Carsen has been a librarian for nearly a year and returns after a successful mission. He had recovered a mystical crystal skull. When he arrives, Charlene is not exactly pleased that he had all of his mail sent to the library. As he enters the secret room, Flynn is attacked by the sword Excalibur . Flynn, surprised, can hold his own against the sword. He hands Judson the skull and then goes to his mother and gets a surprise there: It's Flynn's 32nd birthday and his mother has organized a surprise party for him and is trying to pair him up again, this time with his cousin . There he meets his "uncle" Jerry again, who tells him something about his father. Flynn's mother gives him an amulet and shows him pictures he had painted as a little boy. Flynn goes home late that evening and opens the mail Charlene had given him. He finds some sort of map, but doesn't look closely when he sees that his apartment has been turned upside down. He calls Judson, but Flynn notices someone during his call. This knocks him down. He comes to when Judson appears. Back in the library, Judson tells him that it must be King Solomon's treasure. Flynn tells everything he knows about Solomon. Then Judson tells him that for fear of robbers, Solomon did not keep all of his riches in his palace. Part of it is in the so-called "mines of King Solomon". Solomon commissioned 24 men to build it for him. Only they knew the location of the mines. They passed on their knowledge from generation to generation. Judson goes on to say that there is a special book in the mines. In the wrong hands it can wreak havoc. It is Solomon's book. With this book one can master space and time. Fortunately, the card is worthless without the legend. This is said to be in Roman ruins in Morocco . Flynn is supposed to find any evidence that points to the mines and bring it to the library. He also emphasizes that the mines must never be found.

When he arrived in Morocco, he went straight to the excavation sites. There he meets the archaeologist Emily Davenport. She is very angry with Flynn's snooping and tells him to leave. But in the evening he returns to look for the legend, and he is surprised by Emily. She doesn't think there's a secret chamber in the ruins, but Flynn finds her. In the chamber he then finds the first part of the legend. However, Flynn is attacked by a man who is not thrilled that Flynn has the legend. Only when the amulet that his mother gave him begins to glow does the man stop. He also wears such an amulet and helps them both. He tells you where the second part of the legend is. It is in Gede, a province of Kenya. You have to hurry because General Samir is also at the excavation site to get the legend. Emily and Flynn escape through a secret passage. Because she is constantly improving Flynn, he tells her that he has 22 degrees , which is believed to be a record. Emily counters and tells Flynn that she has 25 degrees. On the way they meet Jomo. This is up to his neck in the sand as a punishment for theft. In gratitude for his liberation, he leads the two. Later, however, they part ways and Flynn and Emily find the place where the second part should be. It's kind of a magic shop, but Samir was faster. He pretends to be the son of the recently deceased owner. The two have no idea what danger they are in. Flynn finds the second part of the legend and Emily notices the charade of Samir and they both narrowly escape. At the train station he meets his "uncle" Jerry, who helps them to escape. Jerry rented some compartments on the train. Flynn and Emily get closer to each other after a dinner with a lot of drinking. But Flynn is getting annoyed by Emily's constant improvement. Now that they have the map and the legend, Flynn tries to decipher the map. He notices that these are not words but stanzas. He puts the two parts of the legend together and uses them like a flute. When he plays the correct melody, the location of the mines is revealed to him. The next morning they both get out and Flynn notices something strange. His drawings from childhood are very similar to the environment in which the two are currently. In fact, both find the entrance to the mines and inside the book and numerous treasures. But Samir reappears, together with Jerry. Samir demands the book. But when Flynn refuses to publish the book, he beats Jerry. Flynn then hands over the book, but Jerry turns out to be Samir's boss. Behind all this is Jerry, who murdered Flynn's father because he didn't want to tell him the secret of the mines. Jerry wants what's his due, by all means. He has the two locked up. You shouldn't suffer too little. Samir locks her in a chamber. Suddenly water rushes into her “prison”. Both try to free themselves, but it will not succeed. Then Flynn has a vision. He's on the beach with Judson, who is flying a kite. After a short conversation, Flynn wakes up and is then freed by Jomo, who has followed them. Jomo takes care of Samir, while Flynn and Emily are supposed to stop Jerry, who has already started the ceremony. Flynn stops him, but Jerry tries to influence Flynn. Flynn continues with the ceremony to have his father return. Emily can wake him up and Flynn comes to his senses. He throws the book in the fire and Jerry jumps after it. The mine begins to collapse. They can all get out of the mine in time.

At the airport, Emily says they are going their separate ways. She flies to Tunisia to an archaeological site of the Queen of Sheba . Flynn returns to the library.

criticism

“Adventure film with clear borrowings from the“ Indiana Jones ”cycle, which neither reaches the speed nor the features of its role models. Also disappointing in terms of tricks. "
