Mark Harmon
Thomas Mark Harmon (born September 2, 1951 in Burbank near Los Angeles ) is an American actor , director and television producer .
Life
Harmon's mother was Elyse Knox (1917–2012), who also worked as an actress. His father was American football player and winner of the 1940 Heisman Trophy Tom Harmon (1919–1990). He played college football for the University of Michigan and later for the Los Angeles Rams in the National Football League (NFL). Harmon grew up with two sisters. His niece is the actress Tracy Nelson . His maternal grandmother comes from the Austrian capital Vienna . Harmon studied at the University of California , where he was part of the university's football team in 1972 and 1973 and played on the team as a quarterback . In 1973 he was awarded the National Football Foundation Award . In 1974 he graduated.
From 1983 Harmon played in the television series Chief Doctor Dr. Westphall the role of Dr. Robert Caldwell . After two seasons, he asked the series writers to give his character more depth. At this request, the writers wrote the character from the series by getting HIV. In 1986, People magazine named him the Sexiest Man Alive . In the same year Harmon played serial killer Ted Bundy in Marvin J. Chomsky's film Nightmare of Horror for television and received a Golden Globe nomination for it.
In 1988 Harmon starred in the films Presidio alongside Sean Connery and Meg Ryan and in Katie's Desire alongside Jodie Foster . He is also known from the TV series Flamingo Road and Chicago Hope . For the role of the cop Dicky Cobb in the television series The Prosecutor and the Cop , he was nominated again for the Golden Globe Award in 1992 and 1993.
In addition to his appearances in various films and television series, Mark Harmon has also made a name for himself in the theater. In addition to his role as Bobby in Wrestlers, he worked on The Wager and the Canadian premiere of Key Exchange . He played alongside his wife Pam Dawber in various performances of Love Letters . As a director, he has staged two episodes each of the series Chicago Hope - Endstation Hope and Boston Public .
Since 2003 Harmon has played the role of special agent Leroy Jethro Gibbs in the television series Navy CIS , in which he has also been a producer since the sixth season .
Harmon has been married to actress Pam Dawber since 1987 , who played Mindy in the television series Mork vom Ork ( Mork and Mindy ) opposite Robin Williams (Mork). Harmon has two sons with her, Sean Thomas Harmon (* 1988) and Ty Christian Harmon (* 1992). Sean plays the young Gibbs in several episodes of Navy CIS .
Voice actor
He was dubbed by Mathias Einert in the series Flamingo Road and in the feature film Presidio . The spokesperson for The Dream Factory was Norbert Langer . Andreas Thieck spoke his character in the series Chicago Hope . The German voice of Leroy Jethro Gibbs in the series Navy CIS has been given to him by Wolfgang Condrus since 2003 .
