Leroy Jethro Gibbs
NCIS Supervisory Special Agent Leroy Jethro Gibbs is a retired Gunnery Sergeant of the United States Marine Corps (USMC), one of the world's top snipers and a highly decorated Iraq veteran. He's the head of the NCIS Major Case Response Team, which the series revolves around. In his free time he builds boats in his basement, he speaks fluent Russian and is proficient in sign language as well as Japanese and Chinese . He also speaks a little Spanish. He is not a fan of modern technology and therefore finds it difficult to get along with computers and cell phones. Gibbs has been married four times (three divorced) and had a daughter from his first marriage. While Gibbs was serving as a sniper for the USMC in Kuwait , his first wife, Shannon, and their daughter, Kelly, were killed in an attack by a drug dealer . This is also one reason why he is unable to make new bonds. During his military service, he has received the Silver Star , Purple Heart , Navy & Marine Corps Commendation Medal , Navy Unit Commendation and Southwest Asia Service Medal, among others . With the help of investigating special agent Mike Franks, he takes revenge on his family's murderer by killing him, and then in 1991 he joins the Naval Investigative Service (NIS). During his early days at NCIS, Agent Franks is his manager and mentor ; Franks always calls him “freshman”.
Gibbs' taciturn manner is his trademark. He is assertive and is not very subtle when it comes to conflicts. If he thinks a call is over, he simply leaves the room or hangs up on the phone. To solve cases, Gibbs relies on instinct, often against the evidence and circumstantial evidence. When he has got something on his mind, he holds on to it, even in conflict with given commands. Since he delivers excellent results, the various directors usually have his back.
Since Gibbs can move silently, it's a kind of running gag that when people on the team talk about him, he suddenly stands behind them. Over the years DiNozzo in particular has developed the ability to change the subject at lightning speed in these situations. Gibbs has a very good relationship with Abby Sciuto, even if he has his back to every team member and friend in the event of a serious problem.
Gibbs has relationships with several women over the course of the seasons, all of whom are usually red-haired. Jethro hardly has a good word for his divorced ex-wives, although he rarely talks about his first wife. After he barely survived a bomb attack in the episode Fifteen Years of the third season , he quits his service with NCIS and goes to Mexico to his mentor and old boss Mike Franks. In the episode On the Run of the fourth season, he returns to duty and thus returns to his team. In the season five episode Bad Days , the new NCIS Director Leon Vance moves his entire team and assigns him new NCIS agents. In the course of the sixth season, his old team will return. In the season six episode Father and Son , Stillwater is named as Gibbs' hometown. His father Jackson Gibbs, who used to pilot a P-51 , still runs a grocery store there. Jethro Gibbs visits him once (episode "Heartland"); his father gave him a black and yellow painted Dodge Challenger 426 HEMI R / T suspension (built in 1970).
He inherited the habit of making “rules” from his late wife Shannon, whom he met 32 years ago in his hometown. Gibbs applies these rules in both professional and private life. The film character was named after a good friend of the producer Donald P. Bellisario.
Anthony "Tony" DiNozzo junior
NCIS Supervisory Special Agent DiNozzo (pronounced di'noʊso ) is Gibbs' deputy and a womanizer who can resist a pass at a female colleague or suspects rarely. He has Italian roots, which is mentioned, among other things, in the episode A Good Patriot of the seventh season. DiNozzo studied on a scholarship at Ohio State University and played on the local basketball team. He is a former cop from Baltimore , where he worked on the homicide squad. DiNozzo is an expert in ballistics and crime scene sketching and speaks fluent Spanish . In episode 2x22, DiNozzo is infected with lung plague , which he barely survives.
DiNozzo is an excellent police officer and interrogator. He leads the team between seasons 3 and 4 after Gibbs was injured and temporarily retired. He later refused a promotion that would have given him his own team in Spain, but would also have taken him out of Washington and thus away from the team. DiNozzo is transferred to the USS Ronald Reagan (CVN 76) as Agent Afloat in the final episode of the fifth season . However, at the end of the second episode of season six, he returns to the Washington Field Office.
DiNozzo always has problems with his relationships with women. So far he has had problems with any more serious relationship. In the course of the fourth season his girlfriend Jeanne Benoit ( Scottie Thompson ) is introduced, who, as it turns out in the season finale, is the daughter of the wanted arms dealer La Grenouille; his relationship with her therefore did not come about by chance: he was put on her by Director Shepard in order to get to La Grenouille. At the beginning of the fifth season he decides against Jeanne and for the NCIS team. Still, he had real feelings for her and is deeply struck when the relationship comes to light with the disclosure of his identity as an NCIS agent. When DiNozzo later meets Jeanne again, however, he lies to her about his feelings. To allow her to forget him, he claims that all of his feelings were just fake, which is not true. After Ziva David joins the team, he only has “superficial feelings” for her at first. Over time, he develops not only friendly, but also romantic feelings, but he doesn't dare to open up to her.
He has a tense relationship with his father, Anthony DiNozzo senior.
After the death of Kate Todd at the end of the second season, we learn in the further course of the series that Tony keeps a goldfish as a pet. He names this Kate after his former partner. After Ziva David leaves NCIS in season 11, Tony gets another goldfish. He calls this Ziva.
One of his favorite pastimes is teasing McGee. However, if another newcomer comes within range, he can be sure that he will be a target for DiNozzo. At the same time, DiNozzo always stands behind the team in the event of a confrontation and can even remain serious (for a short time). DiNozzo also has a great deal of knowledge about films and film history, which is why he often comments on events or topics of conversation of his colleagues with appropriate film quotes.
Tony learns in the season 13 finale that Ziva David is dead and that they have a daughter named Tali. He then quits his job as an NCIS agent in order to be able to take care of his daughter.
Abigail "Abby" Sciuto
NCIS Forensic Specialist Sciuto (pronounced 'ʃuto ) is the computer and forensic scientist at NCIS. She is eccentric, unconventional and cultivates a distinctive Gothic image. Sciuto is an expert in computer technology, image processing , forensics and ballistics . Sciuto is proficient in Spanish and also sign language as her parents were deaf . Sometimes she talks to Gibbs in sign language. She has a younger brother, Luca Sciuto, who appeared in a supporting role in episode twelve of season 13. During the second season, Sciuto has a brief affair with McGee. In Season 7, she investigates the murder of Pedro Hernandes, the murderer of Gibbs' family and father of Paloma Reynosa. Her nicknames are "Abby" and "Abs". She can almost always be seen with Caf-Pow , a fictional caffeinated soft drink . In season 9, she finds out that she has been adopted and has a biological brother. She visits the shop in which he works, but does not reveal herself. At the beginning of season 10, she is plagued by nightmares. Gibbs advises her to contact her biological brother, Kyle Davis, which she does. In season 15, she leaves NCIS to set up a charity in London.
Dr. Dr. hc Donald "Ducky" Horatio Mallard
NCIS Chief Medical Examiner Mallard is already somewhat older coroner of NCIS Washington Field Office. He talks to the corpses to be examined and always has a suitable story ready about a bizarre death from his long career. The Scot Mallard attended Eton College in England, studied medicine at Edinburgh Medical School , served in the Vietnam War and in 1980 worked in a refugee camp on the Pakistani border in Afghanistan. Dr. Mallard is fluent in French , German and Swahili . Furthermore, at the beginning of the fourth season, he obtained a degree in forensic psychology . Mallard is unmarried and has no children. He privately drives a right-hand drive Morgan that appears in several episodes. He lives with his mother Victoria Mallard ( Nina Foch ), who has Alzheimer's disease and dies in the seventh season. At the end of the ninth season he suffers a heart attack, from which he quickly recovers. His assistant Jimmy Palmer took over the management of forensic medicine during this time. From episode 3 of the tenth season he is officially allowed to work as a forensic doctor again. At the beginning of the 15th season he was awarded an honorary doctorate .
Caitlin "Kate" Todd
NCIS Special Agent Todd joins the team at the beginning of the series and constantly clashes with DiNozzo and his attitude towards the world of women. Prior to NCIS, she was responsible for protecting the President at the Secret Service . She is a trained profiler and can also draw very well, which is why she is often asked by Gibbs to create phantom images or character profiles. She has an older sister named Rachel and several brothers. At the end of the second season she is killed by the terrorist Ari Haswari by a shot in the head with a Bravo-51 sniper rifle , nicknamed "Kate" by the Marines.
Timothy "Tim" Farragut McGee
NCIS Senior Special Agent McGee is a technical specialist originally based in the NCIS Norfolk office. He holds a bachelor's degree in biotechnology from Johns Hopkins University and a master's degree in computer crime from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT). McGee is an excellent hacker, which is particularly beneficial to the team when data is on servers of third-party services that urgently need it. He speaks a little Spanish. At first he only helps out the NCIS Major Case Response Team until Gibbs lets him transfer to his team at the beginning of the second season. McGee is initially a Probationary Agent and is therefore called Probie (in the German version Bambino ) by the others . During this time he developed a close relationship with Sciuto. Later in the series, he was promoted to special agent, but due to his inexperience and occasional clumsiness, Tony often teased him and continued to call him Probie (or Bambino ). Only when he saves Tony's life in one episode does Tony swear never to call him that again. From this point on he used situation-related alienating names such as "McColumbo". Another nickname of McGee was Elf Lord (" Elf King") after his name in an online role-playing game. In the season five episode Bad Days , McGee is reassigned to the cybercrime department by the new NCIS director, Leon Vance, and back to Gibbs' team at the end of the season six episode "Out of Sight ..." McGee has a younger sister named Sarah. He also wrote Deep Six , which became a bestseller, under the name Thom E. Gemcity (an anagram of Timothy McGee) . All the characters in his book were based on his colleagues from the team, which Tony in particular takes as an opportunity to pester McGee. His father and grandfather were admirals in the Navy, which shows in Season 9, but he gets seasick very easily. He has a difficult relationship with his father, who regards his son's profession with contempt and generally sees McGee as an unsuccessful nerd. He has a girlfriend named Delilah whom he later marries. While backdoor piloting for NCIS LA, he develops some kind of friendship with Eric Beale. He is also very enthusiastic about the technology in the headquarters of the NCIS team from LA .
Ziva David
NCIS Special Agent (Liaison Officer of the Israeli secret service Mossad to NCIS up to the seventh season ) David was the daughter of the director of the Mossad and half-sister of the terrorist Ari Haswari ( Rudolf Martin ), she also had a sister named Thali, who was 16 years old Years ago was killed in a Hamas suicide bombing . Ziva was born on November 12, 1982 in Beer Sheva , Israel. She allegedly died in a fire in 2016 in Beersheba. David was excellently trained in all forms of armed and unarmed combat.
She first joins the team as a guest at the beginning of the third season to help find Kate's killer. In the episode The Duel - Part 2 of the third season, she shoots her half-brother in order to gain Gibbs' trust, as was known in the seventh season. In addition, she had received the order from the Mossad to kill her half-brother, as Ari Haswari had committed some crimes. Gibbs found that out later and questioned her loyalty. She is close friends with the new director of NCIS, Jennifer Shepard; both previously carried out several counterterrorism operations together in the Middle East. A few episodes later, Ziva is regularly transferred from the Mossad to the NCIS. Her subtle nature and intimidating threats in the investigation cause suspects to become anxious. Ziva is fluent in Hebrew , English , Arabic , Turkish , French , Italian , Russian , Spanish and Pashto, although she sometimes confuses or does not understand some English words (especially colloquial speech and proverbs); this often manifests itself in the form of idioms which are used incorrectly or which are linked with incorrect words. She also speaks some German. At first, she is not very impressed by DiNozzo's behavior, but this changes quickly as she becomes more and more likeable over time, which she does not express to her colleagues. This is only noticeable by her exaggerated concern when Tony is in dangerous situations. She also shows a slight jealousy of female "competition". At the end of the fifth season, the new NCIS director Leon Vance ends his collaboration with the Mossad and sends David back to Israel. In the episode "A Desperate Man" (season 9), Ray Cruz makes her a marriage proposal, which she refuses because Ray accidentally killed an innocent woman shortly before and wanted to cover it up at all costs.
At the beginning of the sixth season she is injured by a bomb in Morocco , where she is an undercover dancer in a nightclub, and as a result returns to the team at the end of the first episode. At the end of the sixth season, she leaves the NCIS team and stays in Israel because she doesn't believe DiNozzo that he shot her lover and Mossad agent Michael Rivkin in her apartment in Washington just in self-defense. She is captured and tortured by terrorists in North Africa in order to divulge information about the NCIS. Ziva is released from her torture by Gibbs, DiNozzo and McGee at the beginning of the seventh season and returns to the NCIS headquarters at the end of the first episode, where she and the entire team are greeted with applause. At the end of the fourth episode of the seventh season, she officially becomes a full member of the NCIS and is now called "Agent". Since then she has also been referred to as Bambina or in the English original as Probie by DiNozzo. Before doing this, she had to explain to Director Vance how her kidnapping came about , in which the crew of a ship she was on was murdered. Until then, her application for employment was denied. In the season finale of the thirteenth season, Ziva David apparently dies when her father's family house is burned down by Trent Kort (CIA agent). It turns out that Ziva's and Tony's daughter Tali survived the fire. She has lived with Tony DiNozzo ever since. In season 16, episode 13 (“Ziva's secret”) it comes out that Ziva is still alive. Apart from Eleanor Bishop, nobody knows about it and, at Ziva's request, she should keep this secret to herself. In the last episode of the 16th season she comes down Gibbs' basement stairs, after which she also appears in the first episodes of the 17th season.
Jennifer "Jenny" Shepard
The former director of NCIS, Shepard, will work in the field herself until she is appointed as the agency's new director. She has worked with Gibbs on previous missions, and both of them had an affair. Given their common history, it is often not easy for them to give Gibbs instructions. In the course of the seasons, the pursuit of an arms dealer becomes the focus of their investigations. This arms dealer, called "The Frog", is suspected by Shepard of orchestrating her father's suicide. His pursuit is becoming increasingly manic for Shepard. In the fourth season, she gives Tony the order to build a relationship with Jeanne Benoit, the daughter of the "frog". When the "frog" finally turns up at her home defeated and asks to be included in a witness protection program, she refuses, knowing that she is sentencing him to death. At the end of the fifth season, she learns that she is terminally ill.
In the season five episode The Oshimaida Code , she is killed during an exchange of fire in a bar. Before that, however, she had already killed all of her attackers injured.
Leon Vance
NCIS Director Leon James Vance grew up in New York, studied at Harvard Law School , but left after a year and switched to an officer cadet school. He completed this in June 1993 in Annapolis and went to the NIS, where he met Eli David on an assignment in Amsterdam. After Jennifer Shepard's death, he is promoted from assistant director to director of NCIS. In the season five episode Bad Days, he causes the team to be disbanded and temporarily assigned three new agents to Gibbs. Vance also protects Gibbs from time to time. B. in the episode Damocles before Eli David. In the episode "Strange Enemies" he is injured in an assassination attempt, which has to do with his past. Dr. James "Jimmy" Palmer
Dr. James Palmer is the assistant to Dr. Mallard. He joins the team when Gerald Jackson is wounded by terrorist Ari Haswari and has to go to a rehab clinic. During the fourth season, Palmer has an affair with NCIS agent Michelle Lee, which he ends, however, because he feels that he is only used by her. In Season 5, he becomes really involved in a case for the first time when he is shot at. In this episode, he has several problems with himself because he reproaches himself for failing to apprehend the perpetrator. However, these dissolve when he makes it possible to capture the perpetrator. In season 9, he is engaged to his girlfriend Breena Slater. At the beginning of the 10th season he married Breena and moved the wedding reception to Washington, in order to spend the wedding together with his team after the resolution of the case of Harper Dearing. In the final episode of season 10, he announces to the team that he and Breena want to adopt a child. However, the adoption fails because the actual mother wants to keep the child after the birth. During Season 11, Palmer learns that his wife is pregnant and that he will be a father. In season 12 his daughter will be born. Season 14 announces that he has passed the forensic exam and is now a fully qualified doctor. After Ducky became less and less on the show, Palmer performed most of the autopsy. He often makes inappropriate jokes and remarks, which gets him a stern look from Gibbs.
Eleanor "Ellie" Bishop
Special Agent Eleanor "Ellie" Bishop joined the team from the National Security Agency (NSA). She is from Oklahoma and has three older brothers. Actually, she was only called in as a specialist for one case in Season 11, but with this she was so helpful that Gibbs offered her a permanent position on the team, which she then accepted. She is the successor to Ziva David. However, her strength lies more in analysis, and she sometimes uses strange-looking methods. In season 12, it is learned that her husband, Jake Malloy, is a lawyer with the NSA. After Malloy confesses to her in the thirteenth season that he has cheated on her, she moves to her family in Oklahoma for a short time, where she receives a visit from Gibbs after a short time. They then divorce after the failed attempt to save the relationship. In the next few episodes she gets along better and better with Nick Torres, a new special agent in Gibbs' team since season 14.
Nick Torres
NCIS Special Agent Nick Torres joins the team after DiNozzo leaves. Before joining NCIS, he was an undercover agent. He hates desk work and refuses to sit at his desk for a while. He pays great attention to his appearance and also does manicures. He takes great pride in the muscles that he builds through regular gym workouts. Over time, he gets on better and better with Eleanor Bishop. After separating from her husband, the two get closer and closer and develop a friendship with ambiguous hints.
Minor characters
Tobias C. Fornell
FBI Senior Special Agent Fornell appears whenever the NCIS has anything to do with the FBI. He's not very popular with Gibbs 'team and, despite warnings, married Gibbs' second ex-wife, from whom he was eventually divorced. With her he had a daughter, Emily Fornell. Later he meets with her again. In the second season episode The Mole , Fornell is suspected of working with Mafia boss Napolitano. Fornell, however, is exonerated by Gibbs' investigation. Gibbs and Fornell have been friends for many years, which neither of them would officially admit. Your meetings will usually take place in the NCIS elevator (stopped) or in Gibbs' basement. In season 11 of the Backdoor Pilot for NCIS: New Orleans , he's sort of a supervisor for Tony and McGee.
Michael "Mike" Franks
Franks is Gibbs' former instructor at what was then the NIS and he was the reason Gibbs joined the NIS in 1991. A year later, the NIS was renamed NCIS by the Navy. Franks was leading the investigation into the murder of Gibbs' first wife Shannon and his daughter Kelly. He enabled Gibbs to kill Shannon and Kelly's murderers, Pedro Hernandez, with a headshot because the Mexican authorities refused to extradite him. Franks retired early after failing to prevent an attack. Since then he has enjoyed his retirement in Mexico. Gibbs lives with him after he quits his service at the end of season three. Franks is also the one who supports Jenny Shepard at the end of season five when she gets into an exchange of fire with four hit men. He shoots one of the perpetrators, but cannot prevent Shepard from being shot. Franks has a son who dies in The Prodigal Son episode . After Gibbs gave his boat "Kelly" as a gift to Frank's granddaughter and her mother, the ship is found on board in the episode Das Boot with some of the killers killed by Frank's daughter-in-law. Franks had tried to direct this murder by shooting in the wounds with a larger caliber weapon. In season 7, he loses his right index finger in an exchange of fire with members of the Reynosa cartel. Towards the end of season 8, he is stabbed to death by the port killer after he became terminally ill with lung cancer. Gibbs built his coffin. In season 9, Franks reappears in visions of Gibbs.
Trent Kort
Kort first appears in the season 4 episode The Frog . He is initially mistaken for the assistant to the arms dealer La Grenouille, but later it turns out that he works as an undercover agent for the CIA . In the episode Schwanengesang it turns out that he has lost an eye. He was the head of the "Frankenstein Program" in which the port murderer took part. In the last episode of the 13th season he is shot by DiNozzo.
Eli David
David is the father of Ziva David, Thali David and Ari Haswari, the latter being born out of wedlock. Eli David is the head of the Mossad. He met Vance in Amsterdam. In season 8, he attends a conference of former NCIS directors; Several attacks were carried out on him while he was in Washington, DC. The NCIS can turn off a terrorist organization that wants Eli's death. In addition, his relationship with Ziva is examined. In season 10 he visits Ziva in Washington DC on the one hand to celebrate the Sabbath with her, and on the other hand because he wants to advance the reconciliation between Israel and the Palestinians. He dies with Jackie Vance in an attack on Leon's house. He is killed by his successor from the Mossad who wants to prevent peace.
M. Allison Hart
Hart is a dedicated lawyer who will be introduced in Season 7. She seems extremely competent, often stands up pro bono for suspects and is able to put Gibbs under pressure. In the season seven finale, it emerges that she wants to represent Gibbs legally. Up until this point, the nature of the relationship between her and Gibbs is unclear to the viewer, but it could be romantic in nature.
Dr. Jeanne Benoit
Benoit is the daughter of the arms dealer La Grenouille. She works as a doctor in a hospital. Tony approaches her in season four as Tony DiNardo on an undercover assignment involving her father. This creates an intimate relationship. When she learns who Tony is at the beginning of season five, she escapes Washington, DC. In the episode Long Live the Queen of the fifth season, she is back in Washington, DC and asks Tony if anything was real between them. Tony denies this, although he still has feelings for her. In the Season 13 episode Scorched Earth , they meet again after eight years. The episode ends with DiNozzo and McGee freeing Benoit's husband from captivity by Burundian terrorists.
Gerald Jackson
Jackson is the first assistant to Dr. Mallard. He is shot in the left shoulder by the terrorist Ari Haswari during a hostage-taking in the autopsy, so that he has to undergo rehab therapy . Gerald appears again in the episodes The Duel - Part 1 and Part 2 of the third season, in which he is taken hostage by Ari in his own car.
Michelle Lee
Former NCIS Special Agent Lee is a young agent and lawyer of Asian descent. Since she is now a Probationary Agent after joining the team, she is also called "Bambina". Upon Gibbs' return, she will be transferred to the Legal Department within NCIS. In between, she has a secret affair with Jimmy Palmer. After Ziva was sent back to Israel in the final episode of season five, Michelle replaces Ziva's position. However, Ziva David returns at the end of the episode Out of Sight ... of the sixth season, so that Michelle Lee leaves the team again. She is exposed as a mole on NCIS in the season six episode Betrayed . However, it turns out that she is being blackmailed. In the following episode (Domino) , she is shot by Gibbs while helping out with her blackmailer. Gibbs has to shoot through them in order to kill the blackmailer. Lee and the blackmailer die.
Thomas "Tom" Morrow
Former NCIS Director Morrow is Jennifer Shepard's predecessor. He values Gibbs and his work, but also struggles with his idiosyncratic nature. At the beginning of the third season he is offered the post of Deputy Director of the Ministry of Homeland Security , which he accepts. Later he appears in a few episodes. Towards the end of season 13, he was shot dead.
Paula Cassidy
NCIS Special Agent Cassidy is a profiler and appears sporadically in season four until her death. She first meets Gibbs and his team during an investigation on Guantanamo Bay, where she works as an expert on Middle Eastern terrorists. During this time she has a relationship with Tony. Then she is assigned to an aircraft carrier, where she meets Gibbs' team again after a while. At the beginning of the third season she is the substitute for Kate in one episode. In season four, she sacrifices herself to save Gibbs' team and a delegation of high Islamic dignitaries from a suicide bomber who previously killed her entire team.
Holli's husband
Lieutenant Colonel Mann is with the United States Army CID ( Criminal Investigation Divisions ) and at times with Gibbs. She first appeared in the episode The Back Man and had to work with Gibbs. After another joint fall, the two finally come together in Poison Gas . The relationship breaks up in the episode Triangle when Gibbs realizes that he is still too grieving for Shannon and Kelly. Hollis leaves him and moves to Hawaii .
Ari Haswari
Haswari starred in five episodes spread over the first three seasons. At this time he is Gibbs' archenemy, who often just calls him "bastard". Haswari was born in 1969 to an Israeli and a Palestinian woman. His father is the deputy director of the Mossad Eli David, who prepared him as a child to become a mole in Hamas . At the University of Edinburgh , which Ducky also attended, he received his doctorate in medicine. Ari first appeared in the Season One Basement Nightmare episode , where he takes Ducky, Kate, and Gerald Jackson hostage. He shoots Gerald and Gibbs and escapes. In the first season episode The Terrorist , Ari takes Kate hostage again to show her he's not a terrorist. At a later meeting between Ari and Gibbs, he is shot by Gibbs. Until the episode The Return of Season Two, Ari is a mole in Hamas. In this episode, Ari returns to America to get revenge on Gibbs, attacks him and his team, and ultimately shoots Kate to inflict pain on Gibbs. In the episodes The Duel - Part 1 and Part 2 of the third season, Ari is chased by Gibbs. Eventually, Ari is killed in Gibbs' basement by his half-sister, Ziva David. In the episode What If ... (Season 9) he reappears in flashbacks from Gibbs. In season 12, a Russian extremist named Sergey Gibbs tries to kill. He cites the friendship with Ari as the reason. However, it turns out that he and Ari have the same mother and are therefore half-brothers.
La Grenouille (René Benoit)
René Benoit, alias La Grenouille (Eng. The Frog), is a French arms dealer and father of Dr. Jeanne Benoit. In season four he is relentlessly chased across Europe by Director Jenny Shepard. Until the end she cannot prove anything to him. La Grenouille has had arms deals with Jenny Shepard's father, and the question arises whether he has accepted bribes from La Grenouille. La Grenouille is murdered by Jenny at the end of the first episode of season five. Ultimately, it turns out he was a CIA undercover agent in one of the largest and longest-running operations. His daughter Jeanne had a serious relationship with Anthony DiNozzo.
Charles "Chip" Sterling
Sterling is Abby's assistant in several episodes of season three. In the season three episode In the Trap , he tries to impersonate a murder by manipulating multiple pieces of evidence. His motive for destroying Tony's life is that he once reported a coroner many years ago for sloppy work. However, the coroner was able to prove that it was not he but the laboratory technician, namely Sterling, who had contaminated the evidence. After that, neither of them were permanently employed by anyone. He blames Tony for ruining his life. As the episode progresses, he threatens Abby when she discovers this and is ultimately arrested.
Christopher "Chris" Pacci
Former NCIS Special Agent Pacci is murdered in When the Dead Speak . He can be seen in a flashback in the episode Better Late Than Never from Season 8, when he hands Gibbs the Tony's files and ironically notices that his stomach would later kill him.
Brent Langer
Former NCIS Senior Field Special Agent Langer is moving back to NCIS from the FBI after leaking information to Gibbs about an ongoing FBI investigation in season five. He replaces Tony on Gibbs' new team. In the first episode of the sixth season, he is shot by Michelle Lee.
Daniel T. Keating
NCIS Junior Field Special Agent Keating joins Gibbs 'new team, taking over the duties of Special Agent McGee until McGee is reassigned to Gibbs' team at the end of the Season 6 episode Out of Sight.
Vivian Blackadder
NCIS Field Special Agent Blackadder is an NCIS agent in the backdoor pilot episodes Frozen Times - Part 1 and Part 2 . She made an appearance in the backdoor pilots, but not in the regular NCIS episodes. After the attack on the USS Cole , in which her brother also died, she switched from the FBI to the NCIS.
Amit Hadar
Mossad officer Hadar is a confidante of Mossad director Eli David and a former superior of Ziva. He also acts as a bodyguard for Eli David. In this role, he is killed by a booby trap attack on Leon Vance.
Abigail Borin
is also called Abby. She works for the Coast Guard and always works with NCIS when it comes to ships. In addition, it often becomes clear that she feels something for Gibbs. In the episode In Safe Haven , Tony, Tim and Ziva try to bring them together with Gibbs. She is very good friends with Abby in the NCIS lab.
