Tracy Nelson
Tracy Kristine Nelson (* 25. October 1963 in Santa Monica , California ) is an American actress .
Life
Nelson grew up in a family of artists. Her father was rock 'n' roll musician Ricky Nelson , her mother was actress Kristin Nelson, and her uncle was actor Mark Harmon . Her two brothers Matthew and Gunnar Nelson were the founders of the hair metal band Nelson . As early as 1968 she had her first feature film appearance as a child actress in the comedy Your, Mine, Ours as the daughter of Henry Fonda .
After graduating from high school in 1981, Nelson appeared on the sitcom Square Pegs alongside Sarah Jessica Parker the following year . However, the series was discontinued after a season of 20 episodes. In 1984 she had one of the supporting roles in a television series again; the series produced by Aaron Spelling Glitter with leading actor David Birney was discontinued again after the first season. Two years later she starred alongside Nick Nolte , Bette Midler and Richard Dreyfuss in the comedy Zoff in Beverly Hills .
In 1987 she married the actor William R. Moses and played the role of sister Stephanie in the pilot episode of the crime series A Blessed Team . In the same year she was diagnosed with Hodgkin lymphoma , which could be cured. Between 1989 and 1991 there were three seasons of A Blessed Team ; through her role she also became known to the German-speaking audience. After the end of the series, she received one of the leading roles in the series of the same name based on the film A Class of Its Own with Tom Hanks and Madonna . She portrayed Evelyn Gardner , who was played in the original by Bitty Schram . The series was discontinued after just six episodes. In 1995 she played the mother of Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen in two direct-to-video productions .
She has one child from her 1997 divorced marriage to actor William R. Moses and a second from a relationship with director Chris Clark.
