Anna Foster is the daughter of the President of the United States , James Foster. She dreams of the normal life of a teenager. While on a date, a friend of her companion is mistakenly arrested by the Secret Service .

The president's family travels together to Prague , where a G8 summit of heads of government is taking place. The president first allows his daughter to stroll through town accompanied by her friend Gabrielle, the daughter of the French ambassador to the Czech Republic, protected by only two Secret Service agents. In a discotheque it turns out that other agents are secretly watching Anna. Anna flees and gets to know the Briton Ben Calder, with whom she wants to travel to Berlin for the Love Parade . Calder is an undercover agent of the CIA , which he hides from Anna. The President calls him and instructs him to give his daughter an adventure - under safe conditions. Secret Service agent Cynthia Morales and one of her colleagues, Alan Weiss, are supposed to secretly escort the couple.

Calder and Anna get on the wrong train, which they only notice when the train reaches Venice . After a while in the city, they travel to Berlin, where Anna overhears a telephone conversation by Calder and thereby learns about his assignment. Anna, in love, is devastated and lets herself be brought home. Then she goes to Harvard to study. At Christmas she learns from her father that Ben has quit his job and is no longer an agent. He lives and works in London as a photographer. She travels to see him and reveals that she is ready to spend a semester abroad for him at Oxford University . You and Calder get back together.

Matthew Goode (in two categories), Mandy Moore, and the film were nominated for a Teen Choice Award in 2004. Christian Henson was founded in 2004 as Discovery of the Year ( Discovery of the Year ) for the World Soundtrack Award nominated.
