Matthew William Goode (born April 3, 1978 in Exeter , Devon , England ) is a British theater and film actor .

Matthew Goode was born on April 3, 1978 in Exeter, England, and grew up as the youngest of five children with his brother and three half-siblings. Goode began studying acting at the University of Birmingham and was trained at the prestigious Webber Douglas Academy of Dramatic Art in London , which has alumni include Angela Lansbury , Julia Ormond and Minnie Driver . Several appearances in theatrical productions followed, including the role of the air spirit Ariel in William Shakespeare's The Tempest and that of the moon in Federico García Lorca's tragedy Blood Wedding .

Matthew Goode is married to Sophie Dymoke. The couple has three children.
