Screen Actors Guild Awards 2008
The 14th ceremony of the US Screen Actors Guild Awards , the Screen Actors Guild each year in the areas of film (6 categories) and television (9 categories) awards, held on 27 January 2008 at the Los Angeles Shrine Exposition Center instead. In contrast to the Golden Globe Award , for example, the so-called SAG Awards only honor film, television and ensemble actors and are a yardstick for the upcoming Oscar awards. The winners are chosen by the members of the Screen Actors Guild, which one must belong to to work as an actor in the United States .
The nominees were announced on December 20, 2007 at Los Angeles' Pacific Design Center's Silver Screen Theater by actors Jeanne Tripplehorn and Terrence Howard . In the United States, the ceremony was broadcast live on cable networks TNT and TBS .
The American actor Charles Durning was honored for his life's work .
