January Kristen Jones (born January 5, 1978 in Sioux Falls , South Dakota ) is an American actress and former model . She is best known for her roles in the television series Mad Men and the teen - comedy American Pie - The Wedding .

life and career

January Jones is named after the character "January Wayne" from the novel Once is Not Enough by Jacqueline Susann .

When she was 18, she moved to New York to model. She had supporting roles in films such as Actually… Love (2003), Die Wutprobe (2003) and Dirty Dancing 2: Havana Nights . In 2005 she starred in the film Three Burials, directed by Tommy Lee Jones, in the film Three Burials . In 2008 she received a Golden Globe nomination for the part of the wife of Don Draper , played by Jon Hamm , in the television series Mad Men .

January Jones gave birth to a son on September 13, 2011 in Santa Monica , California .
