John Krasinski
John Burke Krasinski (born October 20, 1979 in Newton , Massachusetts ) is an American actor , film producer , screenwriter and director .
Life
The father of Krasinski, the youngest of four brothers, has Polish roots. Krasinski's mother, of Irish descent, was a nurse and his father was a doctor. In high school , he performed in amateur performances. He graduated from Brown University with a degree in English literature and took part in classes at the Eugene O'Neill National Theater Institute .
Career
Krasinski received his first film roles in 2002. After a few minor roles and guest appearances on television, Krasinski received a larger role in the television series The Office , in which he appeared from 2005 to 2013. For this role, he was awarded a Screen Actors Guild Award in 2007 and 2008 together with the ensemble of the series .
In 2007 he played one of the leading roles in the independent action film A New Wave . In the same year he played the role of Ben Murphy in the comedy License to Marry , who wants to marry Sadie Jones ( Mandy Moore ) and is constantly exposed to the harassment of the Reverend Frank ( Robin Williams ). In the sports comedy A tempting game , he played the role of World War I hero Carter Rutherford in 2008 , who first brought the football team boss, played by George Clooney , into his team and then competed for the favor of a sports reporter ( Renée Zellweger ).
As a producer, screenwriter and director, Krasinski filmed the short story collection of David Foster Wallace's Short Interviews with Nasty Men in 2009 . The film was Krasinski's directorial debut. From 2010 to 2012 he directed three episodes of the series Das Büro . He was involved in Promised Land in 2012 as a screenwriter and actor . The Hollars from 2016 was his second feature film. The thriller A Quiet Place was released in 2018 . In addition to the male lead - his wife Emily Blunt took on the female role - he also directed and was involved in the script. For the sequel A Quiet Place 2 , which premiered in March 2020, he again acted as director and screenwriter.
Personal
Krasinski has been married to actress Emily Blunt since July 10, 2010 . The two are parents of two daughters (* 2014 and 2016).
