Kelly Macdonald
Kelly Macdonald (born February 23, 1976 in Glasgow ) is a British actress and, among other things, Emmy Prize winner.
life and career
Her parents divorced when Kelly Macdonald was a child. She and her younger brother grew up with their mother in Newton Mearns, Scotland . She graduated from Eastwood High School. She moved from home at the age of 17 and lived with a friend in Glasgow, where she briefly attended college.
As a waitress, Macdonald came across a brochure announcing an audition for the film Trainspotting . The film became her breakthrough. She received an Emmy and a Golden Globe nomination for her role in The Girl in the Café . Two more Golden Globe nominations followed in 2011 and 2012 for the supporting role as a young Irish mother and widow in the US series Boardwalk Empire .
In August 2003, Macdonald married the bassist for the Scottish rock band Travis , Dougie Payne. She has two sons (* 2008 and * 2012) and lives in London . In September 2017, MacDonald separated from Payne after 14 years of marriage.
