Who is the bride (Original: The Decoy Bride ) is a British romantic comedy from 2011 .

action

Lara Tyler is a famous actress. She wants to marry her fiancé, the author James Arber. However, this marriage is repeatedly disrupted by paparazzi . They decide to get married on an island in the Outer Hebrides . Katie lives there, who has just been left by her fiancé and has retired to the island, also to support her terminally ill mother in her bed and breakfast .

When Lara disappears and the paparazzi are still on the island, James and Lara's advisors believe that the paparazzi will only leave if they show them what they want to see: a wedding. Now Katie is to take Lara's place and pretend that she and James are getting married. However, something goes wrong and Katie and James actually get married. While trying to reverse the marriage, the two grow closer to each other. Eventually the pastor reverses the marriage, and it appears to Katie that James and Lara are actually getting married.

A year later: In an interview, Lara reports on the death of Katie's mother, who - together with Katie - was able to make her long-awaited dream come true and went on a trip around the world . Katie is leaving the island on the ferry boat when she meets James. He tells her that he has not married Lara and Katie realizes that he has dedicated his latest book to her - after all, it comes to the final kiss.

Reviews

“The plot is predictable every second and not always really coherent. Especially the usual happy ending seems too fake to really convince. But the successful staging and the sympathetic actors manage to keep the interest in the film going. "

- Moviemaze (film program)

"Without the original sound, the Scotland types appear flat."

- Cinema (German film magazine)
