Ana Ortiz (born January 25, 1971 in New York City ) is an American actress .

Life and accomplishments

Ortiz, daughter of a local politician, graduated from the University of the Arts in Philadelphia . She has appeared in a number of plays and got her first film role alongside James Russo in the 1995 action thriller Condition Red. In the television comedy Reluctant Santa (2002), she played one of the bigger roles alongside Kelsey Grammer and Charles Durning .

From 2006 to 2010, Ortiz appeared in the television series Alles Betty! in a larger role, for which she was nominated as a cast member for the Screen Actors Guild Award in 2007 and 2008 . In 2007 she received the Imagen Award and the ALMA Award . She first auditioned for the role of Betty Suarez , which went to America Ferrera . She also appears at The Labrinth theater in New York .

Ortiz married the musician Noah Lebenzon in 2007. The wedding took place in Puerto Rico . The couple have a daughter and a son.
