Oliver Platt
Oliver James Platt (born January 12, 1960 in Windsor , Ontario ) is a Canadian actor .
Life and accomplishments
Oliver Platt, son of a diplomat , grew up in Washington, DC and in Asia . In 1983 he graduated from Tufts University with an acting degree . Platt starred in television series in the late 1980s . In 1988 he starred alongside Alec Baldwin and Michelle Pfeiffer in a supporting role in the comedy The Mafiosi Bride by Jonathan Demme . In the same year he also appeared in the comedy Die Waffen der Frauen in the role of Bob Lutz , a colleague of Tess McGill , who was played by Melanie Griffith . In the thriller Flatliners - Today is a beautiful day to die (1990) he played alongside Julia Roberts , Kiefer Sutherland and Kevin Bacon the student Randy Steckle , who experiments with near-death experiences . In An Immoral Offer (1993), he impersonated attorney Jeremy , who spelled out the agreement between John Gage ( Robert Redford ), Diana Murphy ( Demi Moore ) and David Murphy ( Woody Harrelson ).
For his role in the comedy Dr. Dolittle (1998) was nominated for a 1999 Blockbuster Entertainment Award to Platt . From 2000 to 2001 he was seen in a leading role in the television series Deadline . In 2001, he was recognized for his role in the television series The West Wing - the center of power for the Emmy Award nominated. For his role in the television series Huff - Reif für die Couch (2004), he was nominated for an Emmy Award and a Golden Globe Award in 2005. In 2006 he was for the role of John in the play Shining City for the Tony Award as best actor nominated.
Private life
On September 12, 1992, Platt married Mary Camilla Bonsal Campbell (better known as Camilla). You have three children (* 1995, * 1997 and * 1999). He is distantly related to the late Diana Frances Spencer .
