action
The attractive Angela de Marco is married to the Mafioso Frank. The marriage is unhappy because Angela is not comfortable in the mafia mileu and Frank is cheating on her with one of the lovers of his mafia boss Tony Russo. Tony suspects something, catches Frank in the act and kills him out of jealousy. For Casanova, the way to Angela is now free, and at Frank's funeral he is already harassing the young widow, who, however, rejects him. Tony's wife Connie is jealous of Angela because she sees her as her husband's seductress.
Angela wants to break out of the mafia family once and for all. She quietly dissolves her household and moves to New York with her son. There the single parent has to take care of the apartment, son and jobs, but is monitored from the start by FBI agent Mike Downey. They run into each other several times and quickly fall in love. The FBI has to realize that Angela is innocent herself, but forces her to actively participate in the investigation against Tony, whereby Mike's cover is exposed and she turns away from him.
Angela succeeds in establishing closer contact with Tony, so that she can accompany him on a trip to Miami and infect him with a ring that has been "bugged" by the FBI. The two are accompanied by Tony's gang of gangsters and, at a safe distance, by Mike in various disguises and his FBI colleagues. At the hotel, Tony's men expose both Mike and Angela and bring them under their control. The situation escalates when the jealous Connie enters the room at gunpoint. There is an exchange of fire in which Tony's men die. With Angela's help, Mike manages to get things under control and arrest Tony.
When the case is over, Mike tries to get in touch with Angela again and can win her back, but not without first getting her head “washed” by the freshly baked hairdresser.
Reviews
“Carefree black comedy that cleverly arranges genre quotes to create unfamiliar connections. Largely entertaining thanks to the good actors and the no-frills staging. "
