Nancy Ann Travis (born September 21, 1961 in New York City ) is an American actress .

Life

Travis lived temporarily in Baltimore and Boston , then studied dramaturgy at New York University . She got her first job at the American Jewish Theater in New York .

Travis played alongside Mel Gibson in Air America (1990) , in Darling, Do you ever hold the ax? (1993) alongside Mike Myers . From 2002 to 2004 she played a leading role in the television series Becker .

Travis has been married to the film producer Robert N. Fried since 1994 and has two children (* 1998, * 2001).

In 2008 she was nominated for the Prism Award in the category "Performance in a TV Movie or Miniseries" for her role in The Party Never Stops: Diary of a Binge Drinker .

Travis has appeared in the sitcom Last Man Standing as Vanessa Baxter , Tim Allen's wife, since 2011 .
