Spenser (original title Spenser: For Hire ) is a crime series produced from 1985 to 1988 by the American television station ABC based on motifs by Robert B. Parker .

Spenser, a former Navy Seal and middleweight professional boxer, can also look back on a brief police career. Since leaving the police force, he has made his way as a private detective in Boston . At his side are the mercenary Hawk and the psychologist Susan.

aftermath

There was a spin-off of the same name for the Hawk character in 1988 , which had a season of 13 episodes. From 1993 Urich Spenser embodied for the station Lifetime Television in four other Spenser films. In 1999 Joe Mantegna as Spenser and Ernie Hudson as Hawk took over the investigations for three films. In 2020 Mark Wahlberg slipped into the title role for Spenser Confidential .
