Hope Springs is a 2003 comedy film starring Colin Firth , Heather Graham and Minnie Driver . It is based on the novel "New Cardiff" by Charles Webb from 2001.

The British painter Colin Ware is engaged to Vera Jones, but she leaves him. He goes to Hope Springs, Vermont , USA. There he met the friend of the manager of his hotel, Mandy. Colin and Mandy fall in love.
Vera appears in Hope Springs, she wants to win Colin back. However, he chooses Mandy.
Reviews
Mark Adams wrote in Hollywood Reporter that the film was light entertainment but not a movie to be remembered. He praised the "attractive" and "talented" actors, the script and the direction.
Neil Smith wrote on the BBC on May 7, 2003 , some amusing scenes compensated for the logical weaknesses of the script. He praised Mary Steenburgen and Oliver Platt.
