Mark Herman

Mark Herman (* 1954 in Bridlington , Yorkshire ) is a British film director.

After studying graphic design in Leeds , he studied film in London from 1983 to 1986 . In 1992 he made his feature film debut with the film Blame it on the Bell Boy . His two internationally best-known films are the socially critical miners comedy Brassed Off - With Timpani and Trumpets and the film adaptation of the successful musical Little Voice .

Herman writes the scripts for all of his films himself. He also published volumes of poetry in England and attracted attention as a songwriter.
