Brian Bruce Baumgartner (born November 29, 1972 in Atlanta , Georgia ) is an American actor , who became famous for the role of Kevin Malone from the series The Office (2005-2013).

life and career

Brian Baumgartner was born in 1972 in the city of Atlanta , Georgia, USA and attended the Holy Innocents' Episcopal School . In 1992 he graduated from Westminster Schools , a private school in Atlanta. He later studied acting at Southern Methodist University in Dallas , Texas before moving to Los Angeles to pursue a career.

At first, Baumgartner mainly appeared in the Guthrie Theater . Baumgartner made his first television appearances as a guest actor in CSI: Vegas , Arrested Development and Jake in Progress . In 2005 Baumgartner was cast in the role of Kevin Malone for the comedy series Das Büro , which he played in over 180 episodes until 2013. Together with the rest of the cast of the series, he was awarded the Screen Actors Guild Award in the category Best Acting Company in a TV Series - Comedy in 2007 and 2008, and was nominated five more times by 2013. He made his directorial debut in 2012 with the episode After Hours of the eighth season.
