action

The focus is on the Chicago couple Mike Biggs and Molly Flynn. You have problems with your excess weight and want to do something about it. Both attend the meeting of the self-help group for people with eating disorders Overeaters Anonymous , where they also fall in love.

It is not easy for Molly to focus on losing weight. She lives with her promiscuous younger sister Victoria and mother Joyce, neither of whom have struggled with being overweight despite their healthy appetites. Mike also has a hard time with the diet. He and his colleague Carl eat in a diner every day, where they make friends with the Senegalese waiter Samuel. So Mike has to resist the temptation anew every day.

characters

Michael "Mike" Biggs

Michael "Mike" Biggs is one of the two main characters in the series. He is introduced in the first episode as a Chicago cop with a weight problem and attends the Overeaters Anonymous support group meeting for people with binge eating. At a meeting, Mike meets the elementary school teacher Molly, who he immediately likes. After Molly asks Mike if he would tell her class about his work, the two of them arrange to meet in the next episode. Mike is a soulful cop but often unsure how to behave towards Molly. Mike's partner and best friend Carl McMillan supports him as best he can. During the course of the first season, Mike and Molly get to know each other better until Mike proposes to Molly, which she accepts. In season two, they move in together at Molly's mother's house.

Molly Flynn

Molly Flynn-Biggs is the second main character in the series. She studied English literature, initially works as a primary school teacher and teaches a fourth grade. She also attends the meeting of the self-help group for people with binge eating and gets to know Mike there. She has a lot of humor even when it comes to her character. She lives with her sister Victoria with her mother. Although this saves her money on rent, she is financially very poor because she likes to travel. During the first season, Molly applies for the position of assistant principal of her school. The extra work puts a strain on Molly and Mike's relationship. At the beginning of the fourth season, she quits school and works as a writer. She can publish a successful erotic novel.
