Nyambi Nyambi junior (born April 26, 1979 in Norman , Oklahoma ) is an American actor of Nigerian descent.

Life

Nyambi Nyambi was born in 1979 to the Nigerian couple Atai and Nyambi Nyambi senior in Norman , Oklahoma , USA , but grew up much of his childhood and youth in Herndon , Virginia . He spent his high school years at Oakton High School in Fairfax County , where he was also used as a basketball player on the school team. At that time he already held the position of Shooting Guard , which he retained during his time at the university. He led his high school team to their first winning season in over 25 years and was selected for the All-District selection because of his performance in his senior year . At Oakton High, he was President of the College Partnership program and a member of the Black Cultural Awareness Association and the Forensics Club . After moving to Bucknell University , where business administration was his major, Nyambi also got involved in the local sports department, the Bucknell bisons . In 1997/98 he played in the basketball team at 17 university games and led the Junior Varsity Team (JV) with 19 three-point throws . In the following season he completed 13 or 15 games, followed by the 1999/2000 season, in which he played seven or eight games and was also used as a JV. In 2000 Nyambi was chosen by his fellow students to be one of this year's homecoming hosts.

Career

Even as a child, Nyambi loved to act out various television characters. Nyambi found acting in his senior year when he auditioned for a play for the university's own theater company and gave a speech about Martin Luther King on campus .

After graduating from Bucknell , Nyambi moved to New York, where he finally took acting lessons at the Stella Adler Studio of Acting, which was founded by Stella Adler , and also worked for Richard Humphrey from Arts4All . He also received a Master of Fine Arts from New York University , with which Nyambi paved the way for a later acting career. Although it was initially only used in local productions, it was soon used in larger theaters, including various theaters in New York City . He played for Partial Comfort Productions in the play A Matter of Choice and was also seen in venues such as the Classical Theater of Harlem , the New York Theater Workshop and the Williamstown Theater Festival . He also had the role of Caliban in the Shakespearean play The Tempest in 2009 . which was performed in the Classic Stage Company . Furthermore, Nyambi, who only graduated from NYU in 2008, was involved in the play Kulakuta , which has a strong connection to Nigeria. He also had plans to film this piece. In 2009 he also worked for the South African writer and playwright Athol Fugard in his play Coming Home in Philadelphia . Nyambi had his breakthrough in film and television a few years earlier when he was employed as one of the two organizers in the US-French-German film production Zwei Tage Zwei Nacht , where he played an important role. Further engagements followed in 2009 in the short film Translucent , followed by a number of well-known productions in 2010. This year he was in a small guest role in William Vincent, alongside actors such as James Franco , Julianne Nicholson , Josh Lucas and Martin Donovan in action and also made an appearance in an episode of Law & Order . He also made it into the cast of the TV series Mike & Molly in 2010 as Senegalese waiter Samuel . He continues to perform in the LAByrinth Theater Company .
