Good Behavior is an American drama series by Chad Hodge and Blake Crouch that focuses on the recently paroled thief, con man, and recently clean Letty ( Michelle Dockery ). She wants to prove her good behavior, but falls in love with a hit man of all people. The series is loosely based on three crime stories by Crouch that have not yet appeared in German. Hodge acted as the showrunner . The first broadcast of the two seasons took place between November 2016 and December 2017 on the cable broadcaster TNT . TNT Serie showed the series in German-speaking countries .

The alcoholics and former drug addict Letty Raines tries to early release from prison - the remainder of the sentence is to probation suspended - to become a better person, to get custody of their year-old son Jacob. He lives with Letty's mother, Estelle, who has meanwhile obtained a legal protection order . In freedom, the protagonist leads a self-destructive and unproductive life and makes a living as a thief and a cheater. In addition, she does not strictly adhere to certain probation requirements. She only finds consolation in her probation officer Christian, who is on friendly terms with his test subject.
One day, Letty happens to be an eyewitness to a killer being hired to kill a wife. Her unsuccessful attempt to prevent the murder finally brings her closer to Javier, the meek murderer. He is immediately fascinated by the woman in her mid-thirties and takes care of her until finally the beloved one returns his feelings.
At the end of the first season, Letty gives the FBI the decisive clue about Javier's stay with a heavy heart - in return for Jacobs' sole custody. She then tries to make up for her betrayal and to save her great love from the authorities, which she succeeds.
Literary template
Blake Crouch came up with the basic idea for the topic back in March 2009. He asked himself what could happen if someone happened to witness a conversation in which a stranger was hired for a murder. It later became the conflict-laden "Letty" Dobesh . Her first story, The Pain of Others , was first published in the March 2011 issue of Alfred Hitchcock's Mystery Magazine .
The series' pilot episode essentially follows the first seven chapters of The Pain of Others , to the point where Letty abandons the disarmed hit man to his inevitable fate. In the book, the target - the angry wife - becomes the perpetrator herself. She tortures the violent criminal in a bestial way - until Letty shoots the cold-blooded sadist . There are also other changes. From Letisha Dobesh is in the series adaptation Leticia Raines and out of the villain Arnold is Javier .
In the second short story, Sunset Key , a psychopathic person hires the penniless protagonist to steal a valuable Van Gogh painting. This order later turns out to be bogus. Letty herself becomes a victim of the supposed target person. Fled across a small island, she ended up shooting her tormentor in self-defense . This novella was not used in the first season of the series.
The third story, Grab , is essentially about a big coup at Wynn Las Vegas . Some criminals rob the casino with Letty's help before they are brought to their prey by Christian, a notorious gangster. He played - in a perfidious game that lasted for months - especially Letisha's psychotherapist . In the end, the shrewd tactician shares the looted money with Letty, for whom he has great sympathy .
On November 6, 2018, Hodge announced on Instagram that there would be no third season on TNT.

In the Internet Movie Database there was an average of 8.2 out of 10 points with over 5,000 ratings. On the review website Rotten Tomatoes , the first season received a rating of 76 percent. Of the 25 reviews evaluated, 19 were positive. Metacritic calculated a Metascore of 65 for Good Behavior based on 22 reviews in English (as of August 26, 2017).
