Sabine Falkenberg

Sabine Falkenberg (* 1966 in Delmenhorst ) is a German actress , puppeteer and voice actress .

Career

Falkenberg studied music, dance and acting at the Stage School from 1986 to 1989 in Hamburg , while she also took private acting and singing lessons. During her time at drama school, she hosted the live talk show Der Hamburger for Tele 5 .

She works primarily as a stage actress; she was u. a. at the Bremer Schauspielhaus, at the Kiel Opera, at the Deutsches Schauspielhaus in Hamburg, in Hanover, at the Lübeck Theater and the Oldenburg State Theater. She played u. a. Luise in Kabale und Liebe , Natalie in Prinz von Homburg , Minna and later Franziska in Minna von Barnhelm , Polly and later Seeräuberjenny in Threepenny Opera , Sally Bowles in Cabaret and Klytämnestra in Elektra . In 2011 (and 2015) she played the monologue Bilanz der Nachtigall within the Portalspiele in Hamburg , at the same time she premiered in Berlin with one of the leading roles in the German premiere of the play Im Gedächtnis der Welt at the Theater am Südwestkorso. As a TV actress, she has appeared in the television series Großstadtrevier (1992), Coast Guard (1997, 2006), SOKO Leipzig (2004, 2012, 2017), SOKO Wismar (2009), Der Dicke (2009) and Tatort (2014) see.

From 2001 to 2004 Falkenberg played and spoke the character of Tiffy in Sesame Street . In the same show she lent her voice to the American character Elmo for 15 years. As a voice actress she also spoke, among others, Helen Hunt , u. a. in Good Woman - A Summer in Amalfi (2005) and The Sessions - When Words Touch , Penélope Cruz in Don't Move (2006), Isabelle Adjani in Mammuth (2010) and Kim Basinger in Wie durch ein Wunder (2010) oder Um any price (2015).

She also loaned Laura Linney , Shirley MacLaine , Béatrice Dalle , Mira Sorvino , Emily Watson , Cate Blanchett (in The Moment of Truth , 2016), Melanie Griffith , Patricia Arquette , Olivia Williams , Sheryl Lee (in Twin Peaks - The Film (1992) and Twin Peaks (3rd season, 2017)), Ellen Barkin and Sarah Jessica Parker her voice. For Igel Records she read a. a. over 10 episodes of the Magic Girls by Marliese Arold; together with Alice Schwarzer for Hofmann + Campe u. a. the CD The big difference . For Arte she spoke the commentary for The culinary adventures of Sarah Wiener over 6 seasons .

Most recently, she gave various readings at the Literaturhaus Berlin (2012, 2017, 2018), the Renaissance Theater Berlin (2011/2012/2016/2017), the Kaiser Wilhelm Memorial Church and the Berlin-Brandenburg Academy (2013/2015 ). Her work also includes that of dubbing and audio book director, u. a. the direction for Schillerbriefe , Kyber-Märchen (Hörgutverlag), the dubbing direction for LOU! (52-part French children's series for KIKA) and the dialogue direction for Maps to the Stars by David Cronenberg 2014.

In 2015, I directed the German dubbed version of the award-winning Polish film In my head a universe and took part in the Salon Sophie Charlotte of the Berlin-Brandenburg Academy with two staged readings, followed by the dubbing for the Belgian film Melodys Baby . This was followed by the casting and dialogue direction of Louder Than Bombs with Isabelle Huppert, 2016 a. a. dubbing the film Ma Ma by Julio Medem with Penelope Cruz and the movie Elle by Paul Verhoeven. At the beginning of 2017, u. a. the dubbing direction for Mojave with Mark Wahlberg and Brigsby Bear with Mark Hamill as well as for the documentary Of Fathers and Sons by Talal Derki (winner of the Sundance Film Festival 2018, German Film Award 2019).

After guest appearances with readings in Hamburg and Lübeck as well as in Berlin with Curt Goetz readings in the "Ellington Hotel", in 2018 she took over the direction of the dubbed version by Patrick Melrose with Benedict Cumberbatch for Sky and then the dialogue direction for Roma , the winning film of the Golden Lion by Venice, followed by the 2019 Oscar-nominated Hungarian film Sunset .

In 2019/20 she works for Blinkist and for the speaker academy as a language coach / lecturer.

Sabine Falkenberg lives with her partner Friedhelm Ptok , who is also an actor and voice actor, and their daughter in Berlin.
