Christoph Eichhorn

Christoph Eichhorn (born September 8, 1957 in Kassel ) is a German actor and director .

Life

Christoph Eichhorn played his first role in a movie at the age of 15 and was engaged at the Bochumer Schauspielhaus from 1972 to 1977 . In 1982 he became known throughout Germany for the personification of Hans Castorp in Hans W. Geißendörfer's film The Magic Mountain , based on Thomas Mann's novel. In the following years he played in a number of feature films, but since the 1990s he has mainly appeared as a series actor - often in supporting roles. Among other things, he was also the spokesman for the chimpanzee boy Bubu in 1991 in the six-part puppet play Drei Jungledetectives from the Augsburger Puppenkiste .

In 1980 he directed the short film Freia and Ferry for the first time; this has been his main activity since the late 1990s.

In 1992 he took on a role in the radio play Controlled Emotions by Heinz-Werner Geisenberger at Hessischer Rundfunk. The piece was awarded the Ingeborg Drewitz Prize in the same year . Also in 1992 he took on a role in the radio play Negative because positive by Heinz-Werner Geisenberger at Hessischer Rundfunk. In 1993 the play received the media prize of the German AIDS Foundation .

His father Werner Eichhorn was also a German actor.
