Matterns Revier is a television series of the First German Television . A detective superintendent who has taken early retirement takes on the problems of his friends and neighbors. The series takes place in the Essen Ruhr area, its episodes were broadcast in the evening program.
action
The quirky Essen police inspector Manfred "Der Mama" Mattern ( Hansa Czypionka ) is released into early retirement after suffering a second heart attack. To the annoyance of Chief Inspector Freitag ( Sybille J. Schedwill ), however, he is not thinking of stopping his criminal activity and is taking care of minor offenses in his direct neighborhood. Often his friends, who live on the edge of legality, urgently need his help, and Mattern does everything in his power to protect them from adversity. In doing so, he does not always adhere strictly to the law.

“Another entry the night before in the first and it doesn't get any better. "Matterns Revier" with Hansa Czypionka is designed as a cheerful, criminalist milieu study, but disappoints in almost all relevant points. "
