Roland Riebeling (* 1978 in Essen ) is a German actor .

Life

Roland Riebeling attended high school at the Wolfskuhle in Essen- Steele and graduated from high school there. During this time he was already playing in the school's theater group in plays such as Der Hauptmann von Köpenick and Warten auf Godot or in the solo Der Kontrabass by Patrick Süskind .

Riebeling did his community service in a Protestant parish. There he gave confirmation classes and worked in homeless and social counseling. Supporting his career aspirations as a teacher of Latin and Protestant religion or a pastor, he received a scholarship from the Protestant regional church to study theology or theater studies. At the same time, Riebeling applied to the Bochum drama school in 1998 , was accepted there and graduated in 2001 with a diploma.

He was already engaged at the Schauspielhaus Bochum in the 2000/01 season, followed by guest contracts at the Schiller Theater in North Rhine-Westphalia and the Theater Oberhausen . Subsequently, Riebeling had other permanent engagements at the Theater Bonn (2002 to 2007) and the Essen Grillo Theater (2007 to 2010). Since 2010 he has been part of the ensemble of the Schauspielhaus Bochum again. One of the most famous roles that Riebeling has played in Bochum so far was Mephisto in Goethe's Faust , King Heinrich VI. in Richard III. by William Shakespeare , Hofmarschall von Kalb in Kabale und Liebe by Friedrich Schiller , the teacher in Dürrenmatt's The Visit of the Old Lady or the title character in Robber Hotzenplotz based on the novels by Otfried Preußler . In addition, Riebeling repeatedly plays the role of the musician in Süskind's The Double Bass .

One of his first works in front of the camera was the role of a chaplain in the film Wearing short pants for a lifetime about the serial killer Jürgen Bartsch, which received several awards and nominations . Roland Riebeling became known to a broad television audience through his participation in the comedy formats Mensch Markus and 3 - ein Viertel , both alongside Markus Maria Profitlich . In addition, between 2002 and 2004 he had a recurring role in several episodes of the crime series Das Duo , he also played in the children's series Die Pfefferkörner and was a guest actor at SOKO Cologne . Since 2018 he can be seen in the Cologne Tatort as an assistant to the inspectors Ballauf and Schenk .

Roland Riebeling lives in Bochum. He speaks several foreign languages, including Chinese.
