Mensch Markus is an 80-part comedy show with Markus Maria Profitlich , which was produced for Sat.1 from 2002 to 2007 . The concept is based on the English sketch show Hale & Pace .

The program always follows a certain pattern: First, Markus Maria Profitlich comes on stage, greets the audience and makes a joke that thematically relates to the first sketch broadcast before the opening credits, followed by a few previously filmed skits. During and at the end of the program, individual skits will again be performed live on stage.

Some formats of the show are for example "Hotte and Lusches", "Sven Dudek", "Art and Krempel", "Our Dog", "He and She" and "Cooking with Henri". Furthermore, Profitlich repeatedly plays a waiter who appears in the most unsuitable situations with an oversized pepper mill, and with another actor two strangely dressed people who simply count things (there is one more!). At the end of the program, a few outtakes of each episode will be shown.

In the more recent episodes, the figure of the explainer returned from the weekly show , which had already been shown in the weekly show from 1999 to 2001 . In contrast to the previous broadcast, his friend was no longer called Jürgen, but Nele.
